INSTALLATION: ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
ATTENTION: before commencing any maintenance operations, make sure the power supply is disconnected.
ATTENTION: the electrical connections must be made, and the unit and its accessories installed by specialised staff.
Bear in mind that making modifications to or tampering with electrical and mechanical components in general will cause the warranty to
become null and void.
• Comply with the safety legislation in force in the country of installation.
• Make sure that the characteristics of the mains power supply match those indicated on the unit data plate.
• Unit power supply and accessories (230V electric heater, remote controls, etc.): Make sure that the mains power supply is single-phase, 230V /
1Ph / 50Hz and that the power supply voltage is within the limits Vmin >195 to Vmax <265.
• Accessory power supply for section with 400V electric heater:
• Make sure that the mains power supply is three-phase, 400V / 3Ph / 50Hz and that the power supply voltage is within the limits Vmin >340 to Vmax <460.
• The warranty is void in the event of unit operation at voltages not within the limits specified above.
• Make sure the mains power supply is able to deliver the power input required by the unit as well as that required by other appliances and units
that are already in use.
CHECK THE EARTH CONNECTION
• The unit is only electrically safe if it is correctly connected to an efficient earth system, compliant with current safety regulations.
• When making electrical connections, the earth cable must be longer than the mains power cable. This will be the last cable to tear if the power
cable is accidently pulled and good earth continuity will therefore be assured.
CHARACTERISTICS Of THE CONNECTING CABLES:
• Connect the unit and all its accessories using cables of an appropriate section for the power input and in observance of local by-laws. They must
be large enough to assure a voltage drop during starting of less than 3% of the rated voltage.
• Use H05V-K or N07V-K cables, insulated to 300/500 V, running in pipes or ducts.
• All the cables must run in pipes or ducts until they enter the unit terminal block.
• The cables leaving the pipe or duct must be positioned so they cannot be pulled or twisted and be protected from external agents. Stranded cables
must only be used with eye lugs. Make sure the cable strands are properly inserted.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS:
• Make the electrical connections according the the wiring diagram.
ALL THE WIRING DIAGRAMS MUST BE UPDATED: CONSULT THE WIRING DIAGRAM ATTACHED TO THE UNIT.
• Adaptors, multiple sockets and/or extension cables must not be used for the general power input to the unit.
• The installer must install the unit as near as possible to the mains power supply switch !!
• To protect the unit against short circuits it must be connected to the mains power supply via a suitable multi-pole circuit breaker with a minimum
contact aperture of 3 mm (to choose the most suitable switch, see the power consumption on the unit rating plate). A multi-pole switch is one that
can be opened on both the live and the neutral wires. This means that when it is opened, both the contacts are opened. The multi-pole switch or
the plug (connection with a cable and plug) must be positioned in accessible places.
POWER CONSUMPTION: See the power consumption values shown on the unit's rating plate.
