2.2 Safety precautions for operation in hazardous areas

PBK9-series weighing platforms are approved for operation in Zone 2, Zone 22 and DIV 2.
The operating company is responsible for the safe operation of the explosion protected
weighing system.
▲ Strictly observe the instructions of the operating company.
▲ Comply with all national regulations for operation in hazardous areas, as well as the
instructions and information in this User manual.
3 Operation

3.1 Checking the weighing platform

Function check
Before starting a weighing series, perform a function check.
1. Make sure that the weighing platform is unloaded and the indicator shows 0.
2. Load the weighing platform.
The indicator must show a value different from 0.
3. Unload the weighing platform.
The indicator must return to 0.

For a verification test refer to the User manual of the weighing terminal.

3.2 Important notes

3.2.1 Calibration
The load cells used in the PBK9-series weighing platforms offer automatic calibration with
an internal calibration weight (FACT).
Regular calibration supports the accuracy of your weighing system.
➜ Follow the instructions described in the User manual of the attached weighing terminal
to activate calibration.
Notes
The calibration procedure can only be performed up to a certain preload range. For more
details refer to the Installation information.
