8. Cook food according to recipe time. Using an oven mitt or pot holder, grasp the handle and carefully lift
the upper grill plate to check food. If desired, continue grilling until the food is cooked to your liking.
WARNING! ALWAYS USE A MEAT THERMOMETER TO ENSURE THAT MEAT, POULTRY AND FISH
ARE COOKED THOROUGHLY BEFORE EATING
9. Wearing oven mitts, remove grilled food from the cooking plate(s) using a non-metallic utensil.
A plastic spatula will help to remove delicate food in one piece. Scratch-proof tongs are helpful
when grilling meats or sausages.
WARNING: Never use a sharp or metal object as it may damage the non-stick surface of the griddle
or grill plates.
10. If additional food is to be cooked, close the 8-IN-1 Grill Station to retain heat.
11. When food is finished cooking, turn the temperature control dial to 250ºF.
Remove the plug from the wall outlet.
WARNING! ALWAYS UNPLUG UNIT WHEN COOKING IS FINISHED. OTHERWISE, THE 8-IN-1 GRILL
STATION WILL CONTINUE TO HEAT UNTIL UNIT IS UNPLUGGED.
12. Allow the 8-IN-1 Grill Station to cool completely before removing the grease catcher cup
or cooking plates or to clean the unit.
Press Grill or Griddle: Hints for Best Results
Grilling Meats/Poultry/Fish
•
To ensure moist and delicious grilled meats, always allow meats to rest 10 to 20 minutes before cutting.
•
Use cuts of meat thick enough to touch the top and base plate when the 8-IN-1 Grill Station is closed.
•
Tougher cuts such as flank steak should be tenderized by marinating for few hours or overnight.
Wine or vinegar will help to break down the connective tissue before grilling.
•
Drain excess marinade and dry meat well before placing on the grill plate.
•
Avoid using marinades that contain high sugar levels that can burn on the grill plate when cooked.
•
To ensure a tender piece of grilled meat, do not salt meat before cooking.
•
Do not overcook meat.
•
To avoid tough and dry meats, never cut or pierce meats while cooking. Use scratch-proof tongs to add
or remove meat from grill plates.
•
Use griddle plates when cooking delicate pieces of fish. Use a heat-resistant fish spatula to remove fish
from the hot griddle. DO NOT OVERCOOK!
Panini Maker: Pressed Sandwiches
425ºF, 5 to 7 minutes
1. Install 2 reversible panini/omelet plates; panini cookside up.
2. Following recipe directions, turn the temperature control dial to 400ºF or 425°F.
3. Prepare your sandwiches as the appliance heats. Panini can be prepared ahead of time,
sealed with plastic wrap, and refrigerated; then grilled as needed.
4. Wearing oven mitts, carefully open the lid. Before first use, if desired, lightly oil the plates.
IMPORTANT: Do not use non-stick sprays as they can cause build-up on the cooking plates.
Use vegetable or olive oil instead.
5. When the blue READY light illuminates, carefully center 1 or 2 sandwiches on the lower plate.
IMPORTANT: Do not overload the cooking plate.
6. Use the floating hinge when preparing Panini and other thick sandwiches. To set up the floating hinge,
follow detailed instructions previously described in the section titled "To Use as a Contact Grill."
(See Figures 7 and 8.)
7. Close the lid so that the upper plate lies evenly on the top of the food. Use the top handle to press
down on the sandwiches while grilling.
8. Check cooked Panini after 5 minutes. Wearing oven mitts, remove pressed Panini from the cooking
plate using a heat-proof rubber spatula.
WARNING: Never use a sharp or metal object as it may damage the non-stick surface of the
panini plates.
9. If additional food is to be cooked, close the 8-IN-1 Grill Station to retain heat.
10. When all Panini are cooked, turn the temperature control dial to 250ºF. Remove the plug from the
wall outlet.
WARNING! ALWAYS UNPLUG UNIT WHEN COOKING IS FINISHED. OTHERWISE, THE 8-IN-1 GRILL
STATION WILL CONTINUE TO HEAT UNTIL UNIT IS UNPLUGGED.
11. Allow 8-IN-1 Grill Station to cool completely before removing cooking plates or to clean the unit.
