Charging
• During charging, the display will show the current charge rate. To view the
current battery voltage, press the Battery Voltage Button (4). The charger will
beep, and display the battery voltage for 3 seconds, then return to displaying
the charge rate
• When the battery is fully charged, 'FUL' will be displayed
Automatic float charging
• If the charger is left connected once the battery is fully charged, it will
automatically switch to float charging mode
• In float charging mode, the battery state is constantly monitored, and the
charger will feed a small current to the battery occasionally to maintain a
proper charge

Troubleshooting

• If the battery charger detects a fault, it will automatically stop charging and
display the appropriate fault code

Reverse polarity
• Under certain circumstances, batteries may not accept a charge
• If a battery does not appear to be charging correctly, first check that all
connections are good and that battery terminals are clean
• A very cold battery (below 0°C) may only accept a very low charge rate. The
rate of charge will automatically increase as the battery warms. Do not attempt
to charge a frozen battery
Charging times
• The battery charger will automatically vary the rate of charge to ensure the
optimum charging of the battery. This means that the charge time is dependent
on the type of battery, and the initial charge
• The initial charge of a lead-acid battery can be measured using a hydrometer. A
specific gravity of 1.120 indicates 0% charge whilst a specific gravity of 1.262
indicates 100% charge. Values between these figures can be used to calculate
percentage charge (figures based on a typical automotive battery)
• To calculate the time required for battery charging, divide the amp hour (Ah)
rating of the battery by the charge rate (A), and multiply by the charge needed
(%). This will give an approximate charge time in hours. Always round up the
charge time by 10% to ensure a proper charge. NOTE: exact charge times will
vary with condition and age of battery

Remedy
Replace battery
Remove load from battery
Clean battery terminals and
re-connect
Replace battery
Replace battery
Battery needs to be replaced
or refurbished
Battery is damaged
internally and should be
replaced
Disconnect charger and
allow to cool for 30mins.
Check for obstructed
ventilation
Disconnect battery leads,
reconnect correctly
Maintenance
WARNING: Always remove the plug from the mains power supply before carrying
out any maintenance/cleaning.
Cleaning
• Keep your machine clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to
wear quickly, shortening the machine's service life.
• Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth. If available, use
clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
Disposal
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic
equipment, with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way
to dispose of tools
