Covering the Transducer, Sensor
and Bracket
WARNING
Use only recommended gels (see Aixplorer®Aixplorer® Ultimate User's
Guide). Petroleum or mineral oil based materials may harm the sheath.
Disposable components are packaged sterile and are single-use only. Do
not use if the integrity of the packaging is violated or if the expiration
date has passed.
For illustration purposes only, components may be shown without a
sheath. Always place a sheath over the transducer, sensor and bracket to
protect patients and user from cross-contamination.
Do not reuse, reprocess or resterilize single-use device. Reuse,
reprocessing or resterilization may create a risk of contamination of the
device, cause patient infection or cross-infection.
1. Place an appropriate amount of gel inside the sheath and/or the
transducer face. Poor imaging may result if no gel is used.
2. Insert the transducer into the sheath making sure to use proper sterile
technique. Pull the sheath tightly of the transducer face to remove the
wrinkle and air bubble, taking care to avoid puncturing the sheath.
3. Secure the sheath with enclosed bands.
4. Inspect the sheath to ensure there are no holes or tears.
