Installation
5.1
Mechanical assembly
• Do not modify the screws and threaded pins if not directly re-
quested to do so in these operating instructions.
• Mount the motor onto the axis in accordance with the assembly
instructions for the motor mounting kit recommended in the
catalogue.
5.1.1
Carrying out the product installation
Note
Tensile loads that are too heavy may cause the screws in the cover to be pulled out.
• Do not mount the EGC-...-TB-KF only to the bearing cap above the foot mountings
but additionally always with profile mounting attachments or slot nut mountings
(
Tab. 1).
Mounting to the bearing cap is not possible with EGC-HD...-TB.
• Make sure that installation is free of mechanical stress and
distortion:
(evenness of mounting surface ≤ 0.05 % of the stroke length;
max. 0.5 mm).
For gantry applications, a parallel alignment of the axes must
also be achieved. For additional information please contact your
local Festo Service.
• Place the EGC so that its control sections can be reached.
• Observe the required support spacings.
The diagrams in chapter 13 "Characteristic curves" show the support spacing, which is dependent
on the mounting position and useful load.
If the specified minimum spacings are exceeded, it is imperative to carry out an individual functional
test.
Note
Unsuitable mounting techniques can damage the EGC.
• Make sure that the mounting components are outside the positioning range of the
slide.
• Attach the EGC.
