T-Connector
Wiring Kit
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Fits: 2011-2014 Dodge Journey
Kit Includes:
(1) T-Connector Harness (1) ATC Fuse Holder
(8) 6" Cable Ties (1) 10 Amp ATC Fuse
(1) 15" Cable Tie (1) 12 Ga. Battery Wire
(1) Ground Screw (1) 10/12 Ga. Butt Connector
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read instructions thoroughly before beginning.
2. Open the vehicle's tailgate and remove the two clips from
each side securing the tail lights in place (Fig. 1). Carefully pull
back on the tail lights to remove from the vehicle, taking care
not to damage any alignment tabs.
3. Beginning on the left (driver's) side, Locate the vehicle
wiring harness connectors on the back side of the tail light
assembly (Fig. 2). The connectors will be similar to those on
the T-Connector harness. Separate the connectors, taking
care not to damage the locking tabs. The connectors should
be clean and free of dirt or debris. Clean the connectors if
necessary.
4. Insert the T-Connector ends containing the Red & Brown
wires in between the separated vehicle connectors (Fig. 2A),
pressing firmly together until they lock into place. Plug the
T-connector ends containing the Yellow wires the second set
of vehicle connectors (Fig. 2B). Take care not to damage any
connector locking tabs.
5. Route the T-Connector ends containing the Green wire
through the tail light opening. Continue routing across the
vehicle behind the bumper and up to the right (passenger) side
tail light area.
Caution: Avoid any exhaust, hot pipes, heat shields, the
fuel tank or any other points that might pinch or damage
the wires. When routing wire through metal or other sharp
surfaces, always utilize an existing grommet, provide a
grommet or insulate the wire from the hole with silicone
rubber.
6. Repeat steps 3 & 4 for the right (passenger side, using the
T-Connector ends with the Green wires (Fig. 2B).
7. Raise the vehicle's hood and disconnect the Negative (-)
battery cable.
8. Route the 12 gauge coiled black wire from the battery
compartment under the vehicle along the frame to a position
near the T-Connectors black box behind the left (driver's) side
tail light (Fig. 3). Secure the wire to the vehicle using cable ties
provided.
Caution: Avoid any exhaust, hot pipes, heat shields, the
fuel tank or any other points that might pinch or damage
the wires. When routing wire through metal or other sharp
surfaces, always utilize an existing grommet, provide a
grommet or insulate the wire from the hole with silicone
rubber.
9. Cut the wire loop on the supplied fuse holder in a central
position and strip approximately 5/16" of insulation from each
end. Crimp one end of the fuse holder to the black wire near
the vehicle battery using the yellow butt connector provided.
Crimp the opposite end of the fuse holder to the supplied ring
terminal.

10. With the fuse removed, attach the 3/8" ring terminal to the
vehicles positive (+) battery terminal (Fig. 4).
Warning: Do not attempt to connect the black power wire
to the vehicle fuse panel or any other accessory wiring.
Failure to connect directly to the vehicle battery could
cause vehicle damage and/or trailer lighting failure.
11. At the rear of the vehicle, Strip 5/16" of insulation from
the black 12 Ga. wire and connect it to the black wire on the
T-Connector using the butt connector provided.
12. Locate a clean accessible mounting location on the
vehicle within reach of the white wire and drill a 3/32" hole.
Caution: Take care not to drill through the body or any
exposed surface.
13. Mount the white wire using the ground screw and ring
terminal provided.
14. Reattach the vehicles Negative (-) battery wire.
15. Place the 10 amp fuse into the fuse holder installed in step 10.
16. Confirm trailer harness operation with a test light or by
using a properly equipped trailer.
Note: All connections must be complete for the
T-Connector to function.
17. Mount the T-Connector's black box using the foam tape
supplied. Secure all loose wires using the cable ties provided.
18. Return the vehicle's tail lights to their proper position,
using the fasteners removed during step 2.

INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACIÓN
1. Lea las instrucciones a fondo antes de comenzar.
2. Abra la puerta trasera del vehículo y quite los dos clips
de cada lado asegurar las luces de cola en su lugar (Fig. 1).
Tire con cuidado de vuelta en las luces traseras de retirar
del vehículo, teniendo cuidado de no dañar las lengüetas de
alineación.
3. Comenzando por el lado izquierdo (del conductor),
Localice los conectores del mazo de cables del vehículo en
el lado posterior del conjunto de la luz trasera (Fig. 2). Los
conectores serán similares a los del arnés T-Connector.
Separe los conectores, teniendo cuidado de no dañar los
enganches. Los conectores deben estar limpias y libres de
suciedad o residuos. Limpie los conectores si es necesario.

4. Inserte los extremos conector en T que contienen los
cables rojo y Brown entre los conectores del vehículo
separadas (Fig. 2A), presionando firmemente hasta que
queden bloqueados en su lugar. Conecte los extremos
T-conectores que contienen los cables amarillos del segundo
conjunto de conectores del vehículo (Fig. 2B). Tenga cuidado
de no dañar ningún conector lengüetas de bloqueo.
5. Pase el T-Connector termina contiene el cable verde a
través de la apertura de la luz trasera. Continuar pasando a
través del vehículo detrás de la defensa y hasta la zona de la
luz trasera del lado derecho (pasajero).
Precaución: Evitar cualquier escape, tuberías calientes,
escudos de calor, el tanque de combustible o cualquier
otro punto que podría pellizcar o dañar los cables. Cuando
el enrutamiento de alambre a través de otras superficies
afiladas de metal o, siempre utilizar un ojal existente,
proporcionar un ojal o aísle el cable desde el agujero con
caucho de silicona.
6. Repita los pasos 3 y 4 para el (lado del pasajero derecho,
utilizando la T-Connector termina con los cables verde (Fig.
2B).
7. Levante la cubierta del motor y desconectar el negativo (-)
de la batería.
8. Ruta del calibre 12 en espiral de alambre negro del
compartimiento de la batería debajo del vehículo a lo largo de
la trama a una posición cerca del cuadro negro T-conectores
detrás de la izquierda cola lado de la luz (del conductor) (Fig.
3). Asegure el cable al vehículo usando las ataduras de cables
proporcionadas.
Precaución: Evitar cualquier escape, tuberías calientes,
escudos de calor, el tanque de combustible o cualquier
otro punto que podría pellizcar o dañar los cables. Cuando
el enrutamiento de alambre a través de otras superficies

9. Cortar el lazo metálico en el portafusibles se suministra
en una posición central y pele aproximadamente 5/16" de
aislamiento de cada extremo. Crimp un extremo de la caja
de fusibles al alambre negro cerca de la batería del vehículo
utilizando el conector de tope amarillo proporcionado. Unir el
extremo opuesto del soporte del fusible a la terminal de anillo
suministrado.
