SAFETY STANDARDS

Follow all the instructions outlined in this manual.
- The autoclave must be used by staff specifically trained in the sterilisation
process, in medical studios, chiropodist studios and beauty salons under the
responsibility of the Director of Health.
- Device intended to sterilise, with steam at a temperature of 121°C or 134°C,
tools, rotating instruments, re-usable medical devices and porous materials (e.g.
fabric).
- Only insert products resistant to sterilisation with steam in compliance with the
manufacturer's specifications.
- The autoclave must be installed in a suitable and hygienically controlled
environment.
- The device must be connected to the electrical mains.
- The electrical system must meet standard IEC 364-1 and the "National rules on the
installation of electrical systems on premises suitable for medical use".
- Check the power supply voltage, indicated on the plate, placed on the rear panel of
the autoclave, corresponds to that of your mains. If in doubt, contact your retailer.
- The autoclave plug comes with earthing. Ensure you use a plug equipped with an
earthing and position the device in such a way it is not difficult to disconnect the
plug.
- Using an extension, ensure the type of wire used is suitable for device absorption.
- Before using the device for the first time, clean the room (as described on page 50).
- Do not rest the autoclave on unstable tables or surfaces.
- Do not attempt to carry out maintenance on the autoclave when the power supply
is connected; disconnect the power supply cable from the electrical mains, before
working on the machine.
- If an error message occurs during a sterilisation cycle, the cycle must be repeated.
- To avoid possible burns, the trays must be removed with the specific pincers.
- If the device accidentally falls it may be deformed, which would compromise its
good functioning; it should be fully checked by technical support.
- The autoclave works with distilled water (see technical specifications on page 58).
Any other substance used could compromise device functioning. If an
inappropriate liquid is used, consult technical support.
- It is forbidden to use any acid to clean any part of the autoclave. In particular,
use of hydrochloric acid is forbidden and any detergent containing chlorine. Use
of these substances could compromise the mechanical integrity of the device.
