Using Express
Conference™*
To place a call using Express
Conference:
1. Press the ON/OFF button.
ON OFF
The on/off indicator light
(above the ON/OFF button) comes on.
If you don't see a light or hear a dial
tone, check to see that the power
supply is plugged in, its indicator light
is on, and all connections are firm. See
"Troubleshooting."
2. Get an outside line.
: Some phone systems require

dialing 9 to get an outside line. If you
don't need to dial 9 for an outside line,
pressing the ON/OFF button will
automatically connect you to an outside
line.
3. Press and hold the SHIFT
SHIFT
button for 3 seconds. You will
be connected with an Express
Conference operator who dials out to
your participants and connects every-
one to your conference call. During
your call, the microphone status lights
on the ClearOne base unit turn on.
Each status light responds to the sound
picked up by the corresponding
microphone.
4. When you are finished with
ON OFF
your call, press the ON/OFF
button to hang up. The on/off indicator
and microphone status lights go off.

Placing a Standard Call
To place a standard call:
1. Turn on your ClearOne
ON OFF
by pressing the ON/OFF
button. The on/off indicator light
comes on and you hear a dial tone. If
you don't see a light or hear a dial tone,
check to see that the power supply is
plugged in, its indicator light is on, and
all connections are firm. See
"Troubleshooting."
2. Enter the phone number of the other
party. When you are connected, the
microphone status lights on the
ClearOne base unit become active.
Each status light responds to the sound
picked up by the corresponding
microphone.
3. When you are finished
ON OFF
with your call, press the
ON/OFF button to hang up. The
on/off indicator and microphone status
lights go off.
*Express Conference is available only
in the U.S. and Canada.
Receiving a Call
To receive a standard call:
1. When you hear your
ON OFF
ClearOne ringing and see
the base unit power light flash, answer
by pressing the ON/OFF button. You
are then connected to the caller. The
base unit power light (above the
ON/OFF button) comes on. The
microphone status lights become active.
Each status light responds to the sound
picked up by the corresponding
microphone.
2. When you are finished with your
call, press the ON/OFF button to
hang up. The on/off indicator and
microphone status lights go off.
Muting
The MUTE button controls whether or
not the other party can hear you. The
MUTE button turns the microphones
off and on.
To mute your conversation:
1. During a call, press the
MUTE
MUTE button. Your
ClearOne turns off the
microphones. The microphone status
lights on the ClearOne base unit flash
about once a second.
2. To turn the microphones back on,
press the MUTE button again. Your
ClearOne turns the microphones on.
The microphone status lights stop
flashing.
Redialing
To redial the last number you
called:
1. Press the ON/OFF button
ON OFF
to get a dial tone.
2. Press the REDIAL button.
Your ClearOne redials the
last phone number you
called.
Using the Flash Feature
If your telephone service
includes call transfer, call
FLASH
waiting, or conference calling,
you can use the FLASH button.

for details.
