2.0 Technical Description
2.1 General information
This user manual applies to all the various
HEROS helmet models.

3.0 Design
3.1 Helmet shell
The helmet shell consists of flame-resistant,
UV-stabilised, luminous polyamide 6 or of

fibreglass reinforced polyamide 6 (GFK),
painted with luminous paint or coloured
right through in the required shade.
Scratches do not therefore affect the
luminosity or the colour to any great
extent. The HEROS chrome-plated model
has a galvanically chrome-plated finish.
3.2 Helmet lining
The lining ensures that the helmet is a
snug fit. It has neck padding secured
with press studs and Velcro which can be
removed for cleaning. Screwed in place
at only two points inside the shell, the
complete lining can easily be replaced.
We are the only manufacturers to use an
innovative head band that can be
adjusted from the outside to fit the
wearer perfectly.
There are fastenings on either side of the
back of the lining for adjusting the
wearing height of the helmet. They can
also be used for adjusting the space
between your nose and the visor
(important if you wear glasses).
3.3 Visor
The visor on the HEROS Colour helmet is
made of high-strength plastic with a
scratchproof coating on the outside and
anti-fogging on the inside. The HEROS II
Colour helmet is not coated on either the
inside or outside.
WARNING: polycarbonate is one of
the best materials for helmet visors.
Many of these visors start to become
unstable at 120 to 150°C, but this
does not necessarily mean that you
have to pull out. A melting visor is
however a clear indication for
firefighters that they are in an
