SPECIAl CORD INSTRUCTIONS

Regarding your Cord:
A. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risk of injury resulting from an
entangled cord or tripping over a longer cord.
B. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in
their use.
C. This machine has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug
in any way.
Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
CAUTION
This appliance is intended for household use only. Any servicing other, than
cleaning and user maintenance should be performed by an authorized service
representative.
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove the base. There are no
user serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done by an authorized service
personnel only.
Check voltage to be sure that the voltage indicated on the name plate agrees with
your voltage.
Never use warm or hot water to fill the water container! Use cold water only!
Never refill the water chamber while this coffeemaker is in the "on" position. Turn
the coffeemaker off and let it cool down for ten minutes before refilling with water.
Do not place carafe on a hot surface or in a heated oven.
Before turning your KRUPS coffeemaker on, please make sure that carafe sits flat
on the inside circle of the heating plate.
Never remove carafe before brewing is completely finished. Wait until the coffee
has completely stopped dripping from the filter holder into the carafe.
Never clean with scouring powders or hard implements.
Never use a microwave oven to warm up beverage in either the espresso or the
coffee carafe.
