LOW BATTERY WARNING
Two tones will be heard when about 10–20 hours battery life remains. The battery warning is repeated every half hour until the batteries are completely
discharged.
SOUND LEVEL LIMITATION
The output from the Level Dependent function and the FM Radio is limited to a maximum of 82 dB(A) equivalent sound level.
STORAGE
When the ear-muff is not in use, store it in such a way that the headband is not stretched and the cushions are not compressed. Keep the ear-muff s dry and
clean, store them at normal room temperature and do not place them in direct sunlight.
If the product is to be stored for a prolonged period it is recommended that the batteries be removed to avoid damage.
MAINTENANCE
Clean and disinfect the cups, cushions and inserts with mild soap and water only. Ear-muff s and cushions in particular may deteriorate with use and should be
examined at frequent intervals for cracking and leakage, for example at the start of every working shift. Do not subject the product to rough handling, which can
damage the electronics.
The ear-muff s must not be immersed in water!
HYGIENE KITS (Illustration C)
The cushions and inserts are replaceable. Always replace worn or damaged parts. Remove the cushion by pulling it straight out (C1). Replace the old cushion and
insert with new ones from the hygiene kit (C2). Use only hygiene kits from the manufacturer, consisting of one pair of cushions, distance rings and inserts. It is
recommended that the hygiene kit should be replaced at least twice a year for standard use to ensure that the noise attenuation performances are maintained.
For order reference, please refer to Table 3.
COMPATIBILITY (Table 2)
Ear-muff s complying with EN 352 are of 'medium size range' (M) or 'small size range' (S) or 'large size range' (L). 'Medium size range' ear-muff s will fi t the majority
of wearers. 'Small size range' or 'large size range' ear-muff s are designed to fi t wearers for whom 'medium size range' ear-muff s are not suitable.
For approved sizes, please refer to table 2 (helmet mounted) and (headbands)
EAR-MUFF/SAFETY HELMET COMBINATIONS (Table 2)
These ear-muff s should be fi tted to, and used only with, the industrial safety helmets listed in Table 2, which also shows the applicable size range and correct
adaptor type. Type number is to be found on the backside of the adaptor, see illustration D. Additional helmets may have been approved following publication of
these instructions. Please contact your distributor for further information.

WARNING!
•
The user must ensure that the ear-muff or the ear-muff /safety helmet combination:
–
is fi tted properly and maintained in accordance with these instructions
–
is worn at all times in noisy surroundings
–
is inspected regularly for serviceability
•
If the recommendations given are not adhered to, the protection aff orded by the ear-muff s can be severely impaired.
•
Ear-muff s should be worn at all times in noisy areas and be fi tted prior to entering the noise area.
•
The fi tting of hygiene covers to the cushions may aff ect the acoustic performance of the ear-muff s.
•
This product may be adversely aff ected by certain chemical substances. Further information should be sought from the manufacturer.
•
Remember that hearing protectors can generally shut out external ambient sounds, such as warning shouts, alarms and other important signals. The audibility
of warning signals at a specifi c workplace may be impaired while using the entertainment facility. You should therefore be especially watchful of your
surroundings when wearing hearing protection.
•
This hearing protector is provided with level-dependent attenuation and/or electrical audio input. The user must check correct operation before use. If
distortion or failure is detected, follow the instructions for maintenance and battery replacement.
•
This hearing protector contains batteries and electrical components that may cause ignition in fl ammable or explosive atmospheres. Do not use in
environments where sparks may cause a fi re or explosion. Misuse can result in injury or death.
•
The performance may deteriorate with battery usage. The battery life time varies depending on the mode of use and volume output. For FM/Dual in radio
mode about 100h and for CutOff /Dual in CutOff mode about 1000 h.
•
When calculating the eff ective attenuation of the hearing protector, consideration should be given to the output signals of the radio restoration. The
calculated total A-weighted sound pressure level inside the cup should not exceed 85 dB.
•
The output of the level-dependent circuit of this hearing protector may exceed the external sound level. (applies to CutOff and Dual)
•
The output of the electrical audio circuit of this hearing protector may exceed the daily limit sound level. (applies to FM Radio, CutOff and Dual)
•
Dispose of the product and batteries in accordance with national legislation.
