Programming a Bend
Standard Pendant
The standard pendant can store one angle in memory.
Press the ANGLE SELECT keys momentarily for
1 degree increments, or hold them down for rapid
incrementing:
• ANGLE SELECT
: Increase the programmed
bend angle.
• ANGLE SELECT
: Decrease the programmed
bend angle.
Press CLEAR to clear the programmed bend angle.
Note: The standard pendant can only be programmed
after the home position is set.
Deluxe Pendant
The deluxe pendant can program most common types of
bends. Refer to the "Bend Calculations" section of this
manual.
The deluxe pendant, like the standard pendant, can also
program a single simple bend.
1. Select the size and type of conduit.
2. When prompted with "Type of Bend," press ANGLE.
3. Use the 0 to 9 keypad to select the angle.
4. Press ENTER.
5. Set the home position and continue as usual.
Note: You can program the deluxe pendant before
setting the home position. All data is retained during the
"Set Home Position" procedure even though it is not
displayed.

Marking Conduit
Whether you compute the bend manually or use the
deluxe pendant, it is important to properly mark the
conduit to get the proper result. Refer to the illustrations
in the "Bend Calculations" section for proper mark
locations.
Loading Conduit
Loading conduit is the most critical step in determining
bend quality and accuracy. It is deceptively simple to
insert the conduit and bend, but even a small amount of
slip or rotation in the conduit can cause a large error in
the final bend.
1. From the automatic loading position, slide the
conduit over the roller supports and into the shoe
hook. It should slide easily.
2. Insert the conduit so that the bending mark aligns
with the front edge of the shoe hook.
3. Put the roller supports in the proper position as
described in "Using the Roller Supports."
4. Maintain alignment while taking up the slack by one
of the following methods:
• Briefly press BEND.
• Press JOG to advance the bending shoe 1/2
degree.
5. When the conduit is snug, verify that the mark still
aligns with the front edge of the shoe hook.
6. If completing a multiple bend, verify that the other
bends align with the tail of the conduit to avoid a
dogleg.
Align mark on conduit with
front edge of shoe hook.
