HSM2208 v1.1 Installation Instructions
8 Low-Current Output Expander Module
This Installation sheet shall be used in conjunction with the Installation Manual of the DSC
equipment to which the HSM2208 is connected or powered from (e.g. alarm controller, power
supply, etc.). The HSM2208 module can be used to add up to 8 low-current programmable out-
puts to the compatible DSC alarm controller models HS2016, HS2032, HS2064 and HS2128.

Terminal Descriptions
TMP- Used to tamper the cabinet in which the HSM2208 is mounted. Connect a normally
closed (NC) switch across TAM and BLK. If the tamper is not being used connect a piece of
wire across TAM and BLK to remove the trouble condition.
NOTE:There is a built-in tamper switch on the expander module located in the top left corner
of the circuit board. If the cabinet in which the HSM2208 is mounted has the hardware
required to depress this tamper switch, do not connect anything to the TAM terminal.
NOTE:Tamper protect is required for UL/ULC commercial/residential burglary installations.
AUX+ - There are two terminals for AUX power to provide easier wiring. These terminals are
used to provide power for devices. Maximum current draw is not to exceed 250 mA. Connect
the positive lead of powered devices to either AUX+ and the negative to the proper output
terminal (O1 to O8).
CORBUS - The 4-wire Corbus connection is used by the panel to communicate with the mod-
ule. Connect the RED, BLK, YEL and GRN terminals to the Corbus terminals on the HS2016,
HS2032, HS2064, or HS2128 main control.
01 to 08 - Wire the positive lead of the device to either AUX terminal and the negative lead
to the required output terminal (O1 to O8).
Enclosures
The HSM2208 may be installed within the same metallic cabinet as the alarm controller/power
supply (model Power UC1, PC5003C) or in a separate enclosure (model PC4003C). Internal
and/or external wiring for this module shall be routed, supported, clamped or secured in a man-
ner that reduces the likelihood of: excessive strain on wire and on terminal connections, loosen-
ing of terminal connections, and damage of conductor insulation.
The HSM2208 can be installed in the metal enclosures listed below. Tamper protection
switches can be installed on all enclosures, including door opening protection and/or removal
from the mounting position. Doors can be secured using screws or keylock.

Automatically Enrolling on the Alarm Panel
To enroll the HSM2208 follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the system is not powered.
2. Connect the HSM2208 to the Corbus.
3. Power up the system.
4. Enter section [902] [000]and wait 1 minute.
5. Enter section [903] [003]to verify that the module is supervised.
Manually Enrolling on the Alarm Panel
To enroll the HSM2208 follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the system is not powered.
2. Connect the HSM2208 to the Corbus.
3. Power up the system.
4. Enter section [902] [001].
5. Enter the module serial number.
6. Enter section [903] [003]to verify that the module is supervised.
Status LED
The HSM2208 is equipped with a status LED to indicate the current condition of the module.
If the HSM2208 is operating correctly, the status LED flashes briefly every 10 seconds. When
a trouble condition is present, the status LED displays a series of flashes then remains blank
for 1.5 seconds. The number of flashes indicates the trouble condition as outlined below.

sold.
1.GRANT OF LI CENSE This EULA grant s You t he f ollowing right s:
(a) Sof t ware I nst allat ion and Use - For each license You acquire, You may have only one copy of t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT inst alled.
(b) St orage/Net work Use - The SOFTWARE PRODUCT may not be inst alled, accessed, displayed, run, sharedor used concurrent ly onor f rom dif f erent comput ers, including aworkst at ion, t er-
minal or ot her digit al elect ronic device ("Device"). I n ot her words, if You have several workst at ions, You will have t o acquire a license f or each workst at ion where t he SOFTWARE will be used.
(c) BackupCopy - You may make back- up copies of t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT, but You may only have one copy per license inst alled at any given t ime. You may use t he back- up copy solely f or
archival purposes. Except as expressly provided in t his EULA, You may not ot herwise make copies of t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT, including t he print ed mat erials accompanying t he SOFTWARE.
2.DESCRI PTI ON OF OTHER RI GHTS AND LI MI TATI ONS
(a) Limit at ions on Reverse Engineering, Decompilat ion and Disassembly - You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemblet he SOFTWARE PRODUCT, except and only t o t he ext ent t hat
such act ivit y is expressly permit t ed by applicable law not wit hst anding t his limit at ion. You may not make any changes or modif icat ions t o t he Sof t ware, wit hout t he writ t en permission of an
of f icer of DSC. You may not remove any propriet arynot ices, marks or labels f rom t he Sof t ware Product . You shall inst it ut e reasonable measures t o ensurecompliance wit h t he t erms and
condit ions of t his EULA.
(b) Separat ion of Component s - The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is licensed as a single product . I t s component part s may not be separat ed f or use on more t han one HARDWARE unit .
(c) SingleI NTEGRATED PRODUCT - I f You acquired t his SOFTWARE wit h HARDWARE, t hen t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT is licensed wit h t he HARDWARE as a single int egrat ed product . I n t his case,
t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT may only be used wit h t he HARDWARE as set f ort h in t his EULA.
(d) Rent al - You may not rent , lease or lend t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT. You may not make it available t o ot hers or post it on a server or web sit e.
(e) Sof t ware Product Transf er - You may t ransf er all of Your right s under t his EULA only as part of a permanent sale or t ransf er of t he HARDWARE, provided You ret ain no copies, You
t ransf er all of t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT (including all component part s, t he media and print ed mat erials, any upgrades and t his EULA), and provided t he recipient agrees t o t he t erms of t his
EULA. I f t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT is an upgrade, any t ransf er must also include all prior versions of t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT.
(f ) Terminat ion- Wit hout prejudice t o any ot her right s, DSC may t erminat e t his EULA if You f ail t o comply wit h t he t erms and condit ions of t his EULA. I n such event , You must dest roy all
copies of t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT and all of it s component part s.
(g) Trademarks - This EULA does not grant You any right s in connect ion wit h any t rademarks or service marks of DSC or it s suppliers.
3.COPYRI GHT - All t it le and int ellect ual propert y right s in and t o t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT (including but not limit edt o any images, phot ographs, and t ext incorporat ed int o t he SOFTWARE
PRODUCT), t he accompanying print ed mat erials, and any copies of t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT, are owned by DSC or it s suppliers. You may not copy t he print ed mat erials accompanying t he
SOFTWARE PRODUCT. All t it le and int ellect ual propert y right s in and t o t he cont ent which may be accessed t hrough use of t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT are t he propert y of t he respect ive con-
t ent owner and may beprot ect ed by applicable copyright or ot her int ellect ual propert y laws and t reat ies. This EULA grant s You no right s t ouse such cont ent . All right s not expressly grant ed
under t his EULA are reserved by DSC and it s suppliers.
4.EXPORT RESTRI CTI ONS - You agree t hat You will not export or re-export t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT t o any count ry, person, or ent it y subject t o Canadian export rest rict ions.
5.CHOI CE OF LAW - This Sof t ware License Agreement is governed by t he laws of t he Province of Ont ario, Canada.
6.ARBI TRATI ON - All disput es arising in connect ion wit h t his Agreement shall be det ermined by f inal and binding arbit rat ionin accordance wit h t he Arbit rat ion Act , and t he part ies agree t o
bebound by t he arbit rat or's decision. The place of arbit rat ionshall be Toront o, Canada, and t he language of t he arbit rat ion shall be English.
7. LIMITED WARRANTY
(a) NO WARRANTY - DSC PROVI DES THE SOFTWARE "AS I S" WI THOUT WARRANTY. DSC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WI LL MEET YOUR REQUI REMENTS OR THAT OPERATI ON OF
THE SOFTWARE WI LL BE UNI NTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
(b) CHANGES I N OPERATI NG ENVI RONMENT - DSC shall not be responsiblef or problems causedby changes in t he operat ing charact erist ics of t he HARDWARE, or f or problems in t he int er-
act ionof t he SOFTWARE PRODUCT wit h non-DSC- SOFTWARE or HARDWARE PRODUCTS.
(c) LI MI TATI ON OF LI ABI LI TY; WARRANTY REFLECTS ALLOCATI ON OF RI SK - I N ANY EVENT, I F ANY STATUTE I MPLI ES WARRANTI ES OR CONDI TI ONS NOT STATED I N THI S LI CENSE
