♦ Check the wiring between J3 and J14 of panel
board (48), connector H of the power source
and accessory connected to connector H.
♦ Check the panel board (48) supply voltag-
es, performing, if necessary, the POWER
BOARD (45) POWER SUPPLY TEST and
PANEL BOARD (48) POWER SUPPLY
TEST, of par. 3.3.1.
♦ Replace panel board (48).
■ Replace panel board (48).
3.3.6

No gas flows from the torch.

SOLENOID VALVE (36) TEST.
□ Solenoid valve (36) terminals = 24 Vdc approximately,
with start button pressed.
NO
♦ Make sure on solenoid valve (36) termi-
nals resistance = 56 ohm, approximately. If
EN
>Mohm (winding broken), replace the sole-
noid valve (36).
♦ Check for the presence of gas at the intake
fitting E and that the pressure and flow rate,
in the intake line, meet specification values.
♦ Make sure the gas lines in the power source
are not clogged.
♦ Replace the solenoid valve (36).
■ Check the wiring between solenoid valve (36) and con-
nector J8 on panel board (48).
■ Make sure on solenoid valve (36) terminals resistance
= 56 ohm, approximately. If 0 ohm (short-circuit), re-
place solenoid valve (36) and check the efficiency of
the mosfet M1 and diode D14 on panel board (48).
■ Check integrity of the components inserted on the sole-
noid valve (36) command line (R61, R67, M1, D14) on
panel board (48) (see connectors map, par. 5.5).
■ Make sure correct supply voltage on J15 of panel board
(48) performing, if necessary, the MOTOR POWER
SUPPLY TEST, par. 3.3.7.
■ Replace power (45) and/or panel (48) boards.
■ Replace solenoid valve (36).

3.3.7

The wire feeder motor does not work.

WARNING
The wire feeder motor (25) speed regulation circuits
are fed from the power transformer TF5 secondary
winding, so when the inverter is operating (see Fig.
2.3.1). Therefore, during the threading operation
be careful do not put in contact the torch or welding
wire with the ground potential (welding bench or
workpiece).
WIRE FEEDER MOTOR (25) TEST.
□ Panel board (48), connector J13, terminals 1(+) and 2(-)
= +14 Vdc approximately, three seconds after pressing
the start button (whatever the welding program
selected).
NO
Correct?
♦ Check the wiring between J13 panel board
(48) and wire feeder motor (25).
♦ With the power source off, temporarily dis-
connect the wire feeder motor (25) terminals
from connector J13 on panel board (48) and
make sure the resistance between the motor
terminals left free. Correct value = approxi-
mately 3 ohm (motor winding resistance). If
>Mohm (winding interrupted), replace wire
feeder motor (25).
♦ Make sure there are no mechanical impedi-
ments blocking the motor (25).
♦ Check the motor rotation direction. If incorrect,
reverse the wires on connector J13.
♦ Replace the wire feeder motor (25) and/or
panel board (48).
MOTOR POWER SUPPLY TEST.
□ Panel board (48), connector J15, terminals 2(+) and 1(-)
= +40 Vdc approximately, with power source powered;
+50 Vdc approximately, with start button pressed.

♦ Check wiring between J15 panel board (48),
J1 supply board (53) and J9 power board (45).
♦ With J9 on power board (45) connected and
with the power source off, temporarily dis-
connect J1 from supply board (53). Power
up the power source and make sure on J1 of
supply board (53), terminals 3-4(+) and 1-2(-),
voltage = +40 Vdc approximately, with nom-
inal mains voltage.
