9 REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE

Any maintenance operation must be carried out by
qualified personnel in compliance with standard CEI
26-29 (IEC 60974-4).
9.1 POWER SOURCE AND TORCH MAINTENANCE
A proper maintenance both of the power source and the
torch, ensures an optimal performance and lengthen the
life of all its components, including consumables. There-
fore, we recommend to perform the operations listed in
the table below.
If, during an inspection, a highly worn component part
is found or one that is not working properly, contact the
CEBORA assistance service.
PERIOD

MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS

Daily
• Check the correct pressure of
the feed gas.
Weekly
• Check the correct operating of
the generator fan;
• Clean torch threads and check
that there are no signs of corro-
sion or electrical discharge
PROBLEM
Electrode or nozzle worn out
Oblique cutting
Stand off too high
Cutting speed too high
Cutting speed too high
Nozzle diameter too large compared to the
current set
Insufficient
Excessive plate thickness in
penetration
processing compared to the current set
Ground wire not in good electrical contact with
the cutting plane
Cutting speed too low

Stand off too high
* The low speed dross are thick dross, of globular shape, easy to remove. The kerf is fairly large.
** The high speed dross are thin dross, hard to remove. In case of very high speed, the cut wall is rather rough.
PERIOD
Monthly
Every six months
For maintenance of the inner parts of the power source,
request the assistance of qualified personnel. In par-
ticular, it is recommended to periodically perform the fol-
lowing operations.
• Clean the inside with compressed air (clean, dry and oil
free) to eliminate dust buildup. If possible, use a vacuum
cleaner;
• In particular, provide to clean with compressed air the
IGBT module radiators and the diode assembly, directing
the air jet on them;
CAUSE
MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS
• Check the torch wire with re-
spect to cracking, abrasions or
losses;
• Check the power cord of the unit
about cracks or abrasions.
• Clean the air filter every six
months, making sure that in the
tray E there is no trace of con-
densation;
• Replace the the torch O-ring,
ordering art.2002 kit for CP70C
torch.
