3.5.1 ANCHOR
In order to safeguard the structure of the equipment, each operating
anchor is equipped with a double safety system: the fi rst system
is a non-stop hydraulic system with accumulator, while the second
one is a mechanical system with safety bolt. When the upper an-
chors are stressed, if the stress on the active element is greater
than the system stress, the hydraulic cylinder (1, Fig.15) changes
the length and the position of the active element. After overcoming
the obstacle, the system stress becomes uniform and the active
element returns to its initial position. If the stress is greater, also
the safety bolt is released (2,Fig.15) discharging stress from the
operating anchor.
Bending and performing maneuvers and changes of direction
are absolutely forbidden when the anchors are sunk into
the soil as such operations could result in damage to the
equipment.
3.5.2 USE OF TRACTORS EQUIPPED WITH CONTROLLED
STRESS ON THE HOIST
Start work, proceeding with the slower gears, gradually digging in
with the anchors until the desired working depth has been reached
. Depending on the composition of the soil and the power of the
tractor, set the operating speed, keeping in mind that the higher
the speed, the better the quality of the subsoiling and the results
achieved.
3.5.3 USE OF TRACTORS WITHOUT CONTROLLED STRESS
ON THE HOIST
If the tractor in question does not have the controlled stress device
on the hoist, the working depth can be regulated using a special pair
of rear rollers, supplied on request (1 Fig.16). These accessories
bear the weight of the equipment and enable the working depth to
be regulated. Working depth should be reached gradually.
3.5.4 REAR ROLLERS
Their purpose is to bear the weight of the machine and regulate
the working depth, thereby guaranteeing smooth levelling of the
soil and an initial refi ning of the surface clods.
Hydraulic adjustment
The position of the pair of rear rollers is hydraulically regulated by
means of a pair of interconnected cylinders (2 Fig.16) by manually
changing the position of the cylinders (3 Fig.16).
If is also possible to change the working angle between the rollers
themselves, in order to load or unload earth between the rollers by
means of the adjusting tie rod (4 Fig.16).
All operations for the adjustment of the posterior rollers must be
performed when the rollers are propped on the ground, with the
purpose of avoiding the crushing or perforation of the operator´s
legs.
ATTENTION
The demounting of the axes that hold the mobile elements can
cause the falling of the posterior rollers, and there is the tisk
of crushing or perforation the operator´s legs.
3.5.5 METAL TANGS AND FINS
Thanks to this equpment, the soil explosion is kept under control
through a series of adjuster holes (Fig.17).
The metal tangs are fi tted directly onto the anchor instead of the
guard.
