Operation
If a socket welder without temperature control and tem-
perature selector is used and a material other than that for
which it is (pre-) set is to be welded, the temperature has to
Important
be changed first. The temperature set ex works is that for
polypropylene (PP). Only an authorized seller/service partner
is allowed to perform such a temperature setpoint change.
5.1
Performing a Welded Joint
1. Use the supplied T-bar Allen wrenches to loosen the screw keep-
ing the spigot and socket of the required diameter together and
set them at one of the provided holes on the two surfaces of
the heating element. Then secure them there by inserting the
screw through both and tightening it again using the same Allen
wrench. A maximum of three spigot/socket diameters can be used
simultaneously at any one time on the heating element.
2. Install the socket welder on the tabletop stand — supplied op-
tionally or not, depending on the product version that was
ordered — or another support not raising any safety concerns
and turn it on by plugging the power cord into a mains supply
outlet.
If the socket welder were installed on an inappropriate stand
or simply laid down somewhere while it is hot, this would
expose the user and the assets around it to serious fire haz-
ards. Compliance with all safety messages quoted in Sect. 2
Caution
is mandatory.
3. If the welder used has a temperature control and selector, set
the selector to the temperature required by the material to be
welded. The socket welder — whether with or without tempera-
ture selector — has reached the nominal temperature and is ready
for welding as soon as the green status lamp is on.
4. Using the socket welder, perform the jointing operation observ-
ing all technical nominal values applicable to it: preparation and
facing/chamfering of the component butts, their installation
