5.2 Scope of supply
• Alarm switchgear with pre-installed mini-float switch with 3 m of cable
• 9V storage battery (connected in the equipment)
• Installation and operating instructions
6 Description and function
The alarm switchgear is used in conjunction with a pre-installed mini-float
switch (3 m of cable) for signalling if the water level in lifting units and shafts is
too high. When the alarm level is reached, an integrated buzzer emits an acous-
tic signal.
The storage battery, acoustic signal generator and the alarm circuit are accom-
modated in a small housing with integrated earthed plug. The alarm switchgear
is switched on by plugging it into an earthed socket.
The integrated storage battery is charged automatically.
• The AlarmControl 1 also has a potential-free contact (normally open contact)
through which the alarm signal can be transmitted (e.g. flashing light or horn).
• The AlarmControl 2 has an integrated earthed socket, with connected consum-
ers (e.g. refrigerator, condensing boiler or washing machine) that are switched
off if the alarm level is reached.
When the level has dropped below the alarm level, the acoustic signal is reset
automatically, the AlarmControl 1 potential-free contact is opened and the
AlarmControl 2 earthed socket is switched on again.
If there is a power failure, the 9V storage battery makes sure that the alarm
switchgear continues to function.
If an alarm is triggered with the storage battery fully charged, the operating time
for the AlarmControl 1 is approximately 6 hours or for the AlarmControl 2
approximately 30 hours. A fully discharged storage battery needs to be charged
for approximately 100 hours to recover its full capacity.
