Assembly Instructions
NOTICE:
Do not plug in until instructed.
1. Gently roll the power motion-modular unit forward to rest on the seat and top arm. Cut the
plastic ties and remove the protective packaging under the power motor.
2. Remove the twist tie from the motor connector cord. Route the motor connector cord between
the motor cover and the base rail (F

3. The power supply box and the electrical component bag are attached to the back springs on
the power motion-modular units back. Lay the power motion-modular units back, front side down,
on the seat and lift the outside back upholstery cover to locate the parts (F
tie and remove the power supply box and the electrical components bag from the back springs.
Remove the power supply from the box and set aside (F
•
Remove the cord(s) from the bag and set aside. The electrical components bag contains the
•
120 volt power cord, and for units with a lighted cup holder, a small Y-cable (F
WARNING
– To reduce the risk of injury:
• Do not operate the unit until the back is installed and locked.
4. Install the backs.
Lay the back on the seat, and locate the back and body brackets (F
•
a slight angle and align the brackets on the back with the brackets on the body.
Lower the back onto the body, making sure the back and body brackets are completely engaged.

- Lift the back upholstery cover to visually confirm that both sets of back and body brackets
are engaged (F
4). If one or both brackets are not engaged, remove the back and

repeat the steps above.
- If you are unable to install the back properly, contact your La-Z-Boy
Lock the brackets by using a screwdriver to push down the locking levers (F

5. Locate the fastening tape on the outside back upholstery cover and the fastening tape on
the bottom of the rear rail (F

Pull the outside back upholstery cover down tight, and firmly press the fastening tape
•
on the outside back upholstery cover to the fastening tape on the bottom of the rear rail.
6. Choose a location for the power motion-modular unit that is close to an electrical outlet.
