Pump-motor disassembly and assembly
Motors coupled to the vertical pumps described in this manual (MEKV50C, MEKV50T, MEKV65, MEKVI65, MEKVX65, MEKV65/80/100/150
Europa series) are fitted with thrust bearing (on the shaft output side) able to withstand the downward dynamic thrust generated by the pump
when running. All electric pumps described in this manual require an integral assembly between pump shaft and motor shaft, so that
the hydrodynamic loads are supported by the motor bearings. When replacing the motor, make sure the new type has bearings
suitable to support the hydraulic thrusts (contact Rovatti Service Centres).
Disassembly MEKV50C, MEKV50T series
Disassemble the two protection grids so that the upper part of the electric motor support can be reached.
Loosen the four screws taking care that nuts and washers does not fall into the electric motor support.
The two parts of the coupling can now be removed from the lateral holes of the electric motor support.
Assembly MEKV50C, MEKV50T series
Assemble the coupling by fitting the four screws, washers and nuts in correct position and turn only for the first threads, in order to assure a
large play to both the coupling sides. Alternately fasten the screws and nuts in the same way on both sides of the coupling (fig. 11).
Insert the seeger ring in the proper seat on the pump shaft. Place the coupling from the top so that the seeger ring gets to the correct position
and, after having tightened the screws, the same ring fastens the coupling on the shaft (fig. 12).
Fasten the screws making sure that the coupling remains stable in the correct position on the pump shaft. Screws will not be tightened in this phase but
only later when inserting the motor shaft. The assembly is correct when the two lateral gaps between the parts of the coupling are equal.
Assemble the motor on the upper flange of the electric motor support by placing the shaft into the coupling. Insert the assembly tool under the
coupling by leaning it on the base of the electric motor support in order to keep the pump shaft in the correct functioning position. (fig. 13).
Now tighten the coupling screws and fix the protection grid on the holes of the electric motor support with the suitable screws.

Disassembly MEKV65, MEKVI65, MEKVX65 series
On pumps with mechanical seal simply unscrew three of the screws fixing the seal cover, place the clamp in the special groove on the shaft
(fig. 14) and fix by rescrewing.
For pumps with stuffing box packing remove the flange and fix the template in its place after inserting it in the shaft groove (fig. 14).
To separate the motor from the hydraulic part remove the fixing screw on the coupling (fig. 15).
Assembly MEKV65, MEKVI65, MEKVX65 series
Couple the motor to its support and push the rotor downwards (through fan part) to eliminate axial play.
Using a 8,5 mm point, drill a 7 mm deep hole on the shaft using the hole on the coupling as a guide (fig. 16).
Tighten the fixing screw (fig. 15) and remember to remove the clamp before starting the unit.
