Carefully comply with the safety provisions applicable to works carried out on tracks involving the passage of
trains.
- to ensure safety, never apply the positioning jig between the two rails but always on the external side of the rail.
- Before starting any works, you Must install the safety lock on the drilling machine advance lever (Detail g,
Figure 1) in order to ensure complete system transit suitability and the operator's safety; the safety lock limits
the advance lever stroke so that it cannot interfere with train passage.
please apply tg 0733 adhesive label inside the steel drill carrying case rail (VaL LD) and attach tag tg 0735
(using the cable tie) to the drilling machine advance lever every time the positioning jig is used, to make opera-
tors aware of the above conditions.
- WaRning: the jig must to be used only with machine equipped with two stroke engine type tg033, tH34, tH48.
-
For drilling machine equipped with two stroke engine type tg033, see Fig.11.
The MRFt DBs-sRa CoMpLEtE positioning Jig is a system allowing operators to position the Cembre LD-1p drilling machine on
the external side of the tracks. In 'out-of-gauge' conditions, the drilling machine can remain clamped in the drilling position even when
trains pass over it.
Rail drilling according to the defined interaxe distance takes place quickly and accurately, choosing from 3 available options:
- 2 holes with centres of 145 mm.
- 2 holes with centres of 270 mm.
- 3 holes with centres of 148 mm.
The system includes (Ref. to Fig. 1):
• MRFt DBs-sRa positioning jig, including:
A – Front plate (1 pc.)
B – Drilling machine locking pin (2 pc.)
C – Bar with rail-base locking device (2 pc.)
D – M6x25 fixing screw + D.6 washer (4+4 pc.)
• Ka-MRFt accessories set, including:
E – Drilling machine holder (1 pc.)
F – M6x25 fixing screw (4 pc.)
G – Safety lock to be applied on the drilling machine spindle advance lever (1 pc.)
H – APED130L spiral bit adapter (1 pc.)
I
– TG.0735 warning tag (1 pc.)
L – TG.0733 warning label (1 pc.)
the following items are supplied separately:
M – Template set SR..../3 (to be selected according to the rail type and drilling height).
N – PE130 special spiral bit (ø 13 mm).
1. DRiLLing MaCHinE aRRangEMEnt (to be carried out when the drilling machine is off the rail).
To position the drilling machine on the positioning jig, first remove the clamping device DBG-F... from the drilling machine and any posi-
tioning template.
1.1) assembling the safety lock on the drilling machine spindle advance lever (Ref. to Fig. 2)
Before installing the safety lock (G), completely withdraw the spindle acting on the advance lever (W) the align it with the spindle by
pressing the pawl (39) (Figure 2).
The safety lock (G) includes two parts, to be coupled on the lever (W) as follows:
- Remove the safety lock and place half (S) under the advance lever (W), so that the lock eyelet (Y) is aligned with screw (P) on the
lever.
- Insert half (S1) between the drilling machine body and the engine and couple the two halves by tightening the two screws (Q) using a
5 mm Allen wrench; Figure 2 shows the safety lock correctly installed.
Carry out drilling operations only with lock installed!
1.2) assembling the special spiral bit (Ref. to Fig. 3)
- Fully insert the spiral bit (N) into the adapter (H) and tighten the 2 locking pins using the 4-mm Allen wrench.
- Insert the drill/adapter assembly into the drilling machine spindle and tighten the two locking pins
on the spindle.
