Using the clippers without a guide comb
To clip hair using a comb or fingers, or for tidying up edges/contours, you don't need to use
the guide comb.
!
Important: The blade on the guide comb is very sharp, be careful not to cut
yourself! Handle it with great care.
CUTTING HAIR WITH A COMB OR FINGERS

1. Remove the guide comb as described in the section "Attaching/removing a guide
comb".
2. Lift a section of hair each time using the comb (figure 4) or take it between your fingers
(figure 5).
3. Pass the strands of hair through the comb (figure 6) or between the fingers (figure 7)
until the length you want to achieve is above the comb or fingers, then cut the hair with
the clippers.
CREATING CONTOURS
For edges and contours, you don't need to use the guide comb. Apply the blades directly
to the hair:
1. Comb your hair into the desired shape. Start with the ear contour by placing the side of
the clippers on the skin and trimming around the shape of the ear (figure 8).
2. To tidy up the sideburns and nape of the neck, place the trimmer upside down (lid side
facing the head), with the tips of the blades perpendicular to the skin, and clip to the
desired length (figure 9). If necessary, keep going over unruly or difficult hair.
