Important information

Be sure to observe information concerning safety prior to use under sections 1 and 1.1.
Optivest SR must not come into contact with plasters or plaster-containing materials since this may
lead to sulphur damage of heat melting-alloys. Therefore special mixing bowls and spatulas must be
used for mixing Optivest SR.

3.1 Investment storage

Most of you are probably aware of the problems which can occur when investment is subjected
to variations in environment temperature (e.g. summer and winter) and the effect this can have on
your castings.
That is why it is very important to find the right place to store your supply of investment. The
investment should be stored in a cool and dry place, between +5 °C to +30 °C at 30 % to 90 %
relative humidity. If you have a place in your laboratory where these conditions can be found th-
roughout the year, then that's the place to store your Investment!
If it is not possible for you to store your investment at this temperature, then you should at least
make sure that the work bench where investing is done fits these requirements (use a temperature
control cupboard or similar).

Avoid any nasty surprises by observing the following:
• Regularly check the temperature and humidity in the embedding region –
application temperature: +20 °C to +23 °C at 30 % to 90 % relative humidity.
• Avoid using any investment that has just been brought out of an especially warm or cold
place. (e.g. storage rooms, silos, cupboards etc.)
• Fill up stocks at your workbench before your supply runs out.
• Give the investment time to adjust to the environment!
• Avoid using investment that has just been delivered to the laboratory. Again, give the
investment time to acquire the right temperature.
• If space allows, stock up on investment (especially LIQUID) before the cold winter months
arrive.
• This way, you forego the risk of exposing the liquid to frost during delivery.
