CAUTION: Avoid sharp bends and kinks
that will cause severe back-up pressure in
hoses. Bends and kinks lead to premature
hose failure.
WARNING: The
precaution against injury due to flying debris
caused by failure of the tool or workpiece.
WARNING: Immediately replace worn or
damaged parts by genuine Enerpac parts.
Standard grade parts will break causing
personal injury and property damage.
Enerpac parts are designed to fit properly and withstand
high loads.
4.0 INSTALLATION
4.1 Assembling the press
Mount the cilinder (§4.2) and pump table on the press as
shown in illustr. 1 on page 2. Other parts shown in
illustration 2 are factory mounted. Illustrations 3 and 4
show the press dimensions in millimetres.
4.2 Mounting the cylinder
Position the adaptor (illustr. 1 nr. 1) in the desired
location on the press and secure it with the adaptor
plate (nr. 2) by tightening the four mounting bolts (nr. 3).
Place the cylinder into the adaptor and tighten. Use the
full collar thread of the cylinder to ensure correct
mounting.
4.3 Bed lifting device
The bed lifting device (illustr. 4 item nr. 2) is only
included on the SOP (232 kN) presses. It is factory
mounted. It is designed to move the lowerbed up or
down, not to withstand load.
IMPORTANT: Position the support pins after
moving the lowerbed. Make sure the
lowerbed rests completely on the support
pins, NOT on the steel wire from the lifting
device. To avoid personal injury never adjust the
position of the lowerbed when a workpiece is loaded.
WARNING: To avoid equipment damage and
personal injury never apply load on the bed
lifting device.
4.4 Hydraulic connections
1. Install the gauge with gauge adaptor in-line from the
pump for accurate control of hydraulic forces. When
using a double-acting cylinder position the gauge in the
advance line of the cylinder. See illustration 3 item nr. 1.
2. Connect the hose(s) from the pump to the cylinder.
3. Tighten all couplers and fittings.

that pieces of tape do not enter the hydraulic system,
causing leakage or damage.
5.0 OPERATION
IMPORTANT: It is mandatory that the
operator has a full understanding of all
instructions, safety regulations, cautions and
warnings, before starting to operate any of this high
force tool equipment. In case of doubt, contact Enerpac.
WARNING: When operating the press,
always make sure the support pins (item nr.
4 in illustration 1) are in their proper location.
Failure to insert these pins properly during
usage will result in equipment damage and possible
personal injury.
5.1 Advancing and retracting the cylinder
For complete operating instructions refer to the
instruction sheets included with each pump and
cylinder.
Handpumps
On handpumps with release valves, close release valve
and raise and lower the pump handle to advance the
cylinder to the desired stroke. To retract the cylinder,
open the release valve.
On handpumps with two position valves, shift valve to
advance position and raise and lower the pump handle
to advance. To retract, shift the valve to the retract
position.
Air or electric driven pumps
Shift the valve on the pump to the advance position and
run the pump to advance the cylinder. To retract the
cylinder, shift the valve to the retract position and run the
pump. In case your press is equiped with a single-acting
cylinder you do not have to run the pump to retract the
cylinder.
Air removal
With the pump positioned higher than the cylinder,
advance and retract the cylinder several times avoiding
pressure build-up. Air removal is complete when the
cylinder motion is smooth. Carefully read the
instructions included with the pump and cylinder for
detailed procedures of air removal.
6.0 MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE
IMPORTANT: Hydraulic equipment must only
be serviced by a qualified hydraulic
technician. For repair service, contact the
Authorized Enerpac Service Center in your
area.
