Low-Voltage Enclosure
LV16-120
120 V~ 50 / 60 Hz 2 A
Installation Instructions
LV16-230
Please Read Before Installing
220-240 V~ 50 / 60 Hz 2 A
Use these instructions to install the model numbers listed
above.
1. Mount Enclosure (surface-mount only) – Use keyholes
with bolts sufficient for 14 kg (30 lb) load, M6 (1/4 in) bolts
recommend ed (mounting hardware is not provided). Refer to
Figure 1 for enclosure dimensions.
A. Environmental: This equipment is air-cooled via natural
convection. Mount in a location where the vented
cover will not be blocked. 305 mm (12 in) of clearance
in front of the vents is required. This equipment is
intended for indoor use only; in a 0 °C to 40 °C (32 °F to
104 °F) setting with a relative humidity less than 90%,
non-condensing.
B. Sound Requirements: Power supply will hum slightly
while in use. Mount in a location where such noise is
acceptable.

2. Run power wiring into the enclosure.
!
WARNING — Shock Hazard. Wiring with power on
can result in serious injury or death. To avoid the risk
of electric shock, locate and lock supply breaker in
the OFF position before removing terminal shield.
NOTICE: All wiring must be installed in accordance with
national and local electrical codes.
Input terminal blocks are located under the terminal shield.
Remove the terminal shield to access and wire the terminal
blocks. Locations to run power wiring into the enclosure are
shown in Figure 2. Once terminal shield is removed, refer to
Figure 3 for wiring and torque information.

For increased system reliability, Hospitality Guestroom
Control Units can be powered by an Uninterruptible
Power Supply (UPS) that incorporates surge protection,
brown-out protection, and battery backup. When selecting
a UPS, allow 240 VA of capacity for each control unit on
the UPS. A single large UPS for all control units is better
than an individual UPS for each control unit. This prevents
inconsistent system operation on battery backup if the
individual UPS units power down at different times. The
LV16 does not support housing a UPS. Installation of a UPS
must be done outside this enclosure.

3. Component Installation
Component Installation Locations (Figure 4) – This panel
supports installing up to two Hospitality Guestroom Control
Units or system interfaces in any combination. In addition, it
can house two power supplies and four wire landing boards for
QS Link management.
A . Install the Hospitality Guestroom Control Unit.
— Install the control units in the locations indicated in
Figure 4 using the screws included with the control unit.
The control unit mounting hole locations are indicated by
an orange dot with text "Proc" printed on them (Figure 2).
Peel or puncture the sticker to access the screw holes.
— Torque mounting screws to 1.4 N
B. Install Power Supplies. QSPS-DH-1-60 power supplies are
used to power the control units and the devices wired to the
configurable links on the processor.
— Mount the power supplies on the DIN rail assembly at the
top of the enclosure as shown in Figure 4.
Green Dots "WLB"
— Connect the power cable harness from the Input AC of
the power supply to one of the connectors coming out of
the terminal shield on the left.
— Connect the power cable from the Output DC of the
power supply to the power input of the control unit.
— Connect the black wire to pin 1 (common) and one of the
red wires to pin 2 (P – processor power).
— Connect both of the remaining red wires to pins 3 and 4
(L1 and L2).
NOTE: Refer to the HomeWorks
determining the power requirements for each link based
IEC PELV/NEC

on the link type and the number and type of devices on
the link.
!
Caution — Shock Hazard. May result in serious injury.
To avoid the risk of electric shock or accidental shorts,
cap off any unused wires on this cable.
C. Install Wire Landing Boards. QS-WLB are used to assist
in the wire management of QS link cables wired into the
enclosure.
— Refer to Figure 4 for installation locations of the wire
landing boards.
locations are indicated by green dots with text "WLB"
printed on them
to access the holes.
—
Use the green WLB label to guide the top left spacer.
For further instruction, refer to the installation guide
included with QS-WLB.
D. Install Interface Devices. Either control unit location shown
in Figure 4 can also accommodate the installation of specific
interface devices.
— Refer to the HomeWorks
which products can be installed in these locations.
— Interface devices are typically powered from the
communication link and not directly from the power
