ADDITIONAL INSTALLATION
CONSIDERATION
If the back nut of the rear assembly becomes dislodged during
handling, make sure to rebuild the assembly in its original
Max.
configuration.
1.71
1.
First ensure that the grounding spring is still captive to the
1.71
assembly by one of the plastic retaining rings.
2.
To reassemble the gland, you will have to remove the
2.07
retaining ring holding the grounding spring. This can be
accomplished with a tool like a thin screwdriver. Make
2.07
sure the grounding spring is not damaged while removing
the retaining ring and set it somewhere safe where it will
not get damaged or exposed to a corrosive environment
when it has become loose from the assembly.
3.
Next, remove the second retaining ring from the back nut
in a similar manner; ensuring the rubber environmental
seal does not get soiled, and that the Teflon washer is not
torn or damaged.
4.
Install the two (2) retaining rings over the outer lips of
the rubber environmental seal, making sure they have
snapped in 360°.
5.
Install the retaining ring and environmental seal into the
back nut. You should feel or hear a snap, and ensure it is
snapped in 360°.
6.
Fasten the back nut back onto the rear assembly for at
least 1/4" .
