Installation & maintenance information
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
APPLICATION
PowerMate™ plugs and receptacles are designed for the distribution of secondary electrical power and to provide for quick
disconnect from the power source.
WARNING
SHOCK HAZARD
To avoid electrical shock or electrocution, electrical
power must be OFF before and during installation and
maintenance. Installation and maintenance procedure must
be performed by a trained and competent electrician.
WARNING
SHOCK HAZARD
To avoid electrical shock or electrocution, receptacles
connected to circuits having different voltages,
frequencies or types of current (AC or DC) on the same
premises shall be of such design that the attachment plugs
used on these circuits are not interchangeable.

3. Loosen set screw (3), remove gland nut (4) with gland
washer (7) and rubber cable grip bushing (6).
II. To connect cord/cable to CCP plug
1. Strip outer cable insulation and ends of individual
conductors per Table A.
2. Select rubber bushing and cable grip position per Table B and
rubber section on page 3. Slide gland nut (4) and metal gland
washer (7) over cable. Slide rubber bushing (6) and plug handle
(8) over the cable.
3. Loosen terminal pressure screws (11) and slide prepared
ends of conductors, including all strands, into contact recesses,
observing proper polarity (Style 2 assemblies have ground
contact with strap). Tighten terminal pressure screws to torque
value per Table C.
4. For Style 2 units, be sure grounding contact strap (13) is
securely fastened to the housing.

WARNING
SHOCK HAZARD
To avoid electrical shock or electrocution, a wire pattern
MUST be used so that the same color wire is put into
the same numbered contact opening in all plugs and
receptacles in the system. This requirement provides
correct polarity for the system and eliminates possibilities
for equipment damage and/or personal injuries.
WARNING
SHOCK HAZARD
To avoid electrical shock or electrocution, for products rated
above 100 amp, do not disconnect plug under load. Remove
power from the branch circuit before disconnecting plug
from receptacle.

through grounding strap (13) into hole in plug sleeve (2).
2. Screw combination of sleeve and insulator assembly into
plug handle body (8) until threaded hole in sleeve (2) is aligned
with hole in housing (8).
3. Thread in sleeve locking screw (1) with nylon washer and
tighten screw firmly.
4. Push rubber cable grip bushing (6) into place in handle.
Follow with metal gland washer (7).
5. Screw gland nut (4) onto end of handle (8). Screw it down
tight enough to squeeze the bushing firmly against the cable.
While doing this, push in on the cable to prevent strain on wire
terminals.
6. Tighten gland nut set screw (3) to prevent torsional stresses
on cable from loosening the gland nut (4) and twisting the
wires at the contact terminals.
7 . Tighten mechanical cable grip by means of screws (5) to a
torque value per Table C.
