Grease guns and hoses should be kept clean and checked for damage before each use.
Use an air supply system that incorporates a filter, regulator, and lubricator, or add a few drops
of lubricator oil (SAE 30 or greater) through the gun's air supply quick connect fitting in the die
cast handle.
If your gun fails to work, first check for air pockets in the gun.
To remove trapped air, unscrew the gun head 1 to 1-1/2 turns and do as follows:
air vent
filler
valve
plug
PROBLEM
Grease gun pumps little
or no grease.
Excessive grease
leaking
past the follower.
Gun cycles very slowly

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. Draw back the plunger rod fully and release it quickly.
Repeat several times.
2. Push plunger rod all the way in.
3. Tighten the head to the container tube.
4. Press air vent valve several times to expel the air.
CAUSE
Barrel not completely tightened.
Air Pockets are trapped in
grease.
Blocked grease gun extension.
Grease too thick or cold.
Follower is damaged.
Improper seal between the
plunger and the grease gun
barrel when using bulk fill or
transfer pump.
Inadequate lubrication of the
pumping chamber.
SOLUTION
Tighten the barrel completely.
Prime grease gun as detailed in
instructions.
Remove the extension and
operate the grease gun. If the
gun dispenses grease then
the gun is fine and you need
to either clean the extension or
replace it.
Store grease gun and grease
away from extreme cold or use
thinner grease.
Replace the grease gun.
Put a few drops of lubricator
oil through the quick connect
coupler fitting.
