Installation (continued)

BOOSTING CITY WATER PRESSURE

WARNING: Hazardous pressure. If this unit is used as a booster pump, a relief valve must be installed in the pump system that is rated at
relieving the system pressure at 75 psi. Otherwise, the pump body could explode.
CAUTION: If you use the pump as a high-pressure washer, only use a reinforced high-pressure hose or pipe for the discharge line. If using
a garden hose, install adaptors to the pump suction and the discharge line. The suction hose requires two female ends. Either modify a short
piece of standard 3/4 in. garden hose as a suction line, or substitute a standard washing machine supply hose
Attach one end of the suction hose to the faucet on the outside of the house and the other end to the pump suction. Use a 3/4 in. standard
garden hose for the discharge line. The pump can provide water for up to 3 sprinklers (depending on GPM output of the sprinklers).
Typical Sprinkler Application
(Pump handles up to 3 sprinklers)

Operation

WARNING: Hazardous voltage. Risk of electric shock, personal injury, or death. Unplug the pump before attempting service. Never touch or
handle a pump or pump motor with wet hands or when standing on a wet or damp surface, or in water.
WARNING: Explosion hazard. Never run the pump with the outlet blocked or turned off. If water is trapped inside the pump during use, it
could create steam, leading to an explosion and burns.
Inspect hoses and pipes thoroughly before each use. Ensure all connections are tight and the hoses and pipes are in good
condition. An air leak in the suction line will prevent priming and reduce effective pump operation.
If using an extension cord, use only a UL-approved indoor/outdoor, 3-wire grounding-type power cord. Never allow any part of the
cord or receptacle ends to sit in water or damp areas.

AUTOMATIC THERMAL PROTECTION

The motor is supplied with an automatic reset thermal protector. If the temperature in the motor should rise too quickly, the switch will
automatically shut off all power before the motor can be damaged. When the motor has cooled sufficiently, the switch will automatically
reset the unit and restart the motor.
NOTE: If the protector trips repeatedly, the pump should be inspected to determine the issue. A clogged impeller, low voltage, or long
extension cords, etc., could cause the unit to cycle. See the Troubleshooting section for more information.
