The Utility section of the 480, 481 and 482 DriveRack™ units, contain
many important functions. The Utility section gives you with the ability to
perform several key operational functions to the DriveRack™ system
including: Network Configuration, Security settings, Power-up features,
MIDI programming, Mic Pre Setup and Display contrast settings. Use this
section of the manual to make yourself familiar with all aspects of the
Utility menu of the DriveRack™ system.
6.1 Network ID
All networking functions of the DriveRack™ system are accessed through
page 1 of the utility menu. The following information will lightly touch
upon networking issues. For more information on the utilization of the
networking capabilities, please refer to section 9.
SETTING DEVICE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
To set the device ID number on a 480 DriveRack™, the procedure is as
follows:
1. From Program mode, press the UTILITY button once.
2. Use the PARAMETER 1 knob to set any device number from 1-99. If
the 480 is going to act as the master controller unit, set the device ID to
0, and MST will appear in reverse type in the top left hand corner of
the display.
MASTER
When the selected DriveRack™ unit is set to act as the master unit in the
DriveRack™ network, control of all other units can be performed by the
master unit. It is important to note that there can be only one unit
designated as the master.

SLAVE
When either the 480, 481 or 482 is set to act as a slave unit within a
DriveRack™ network, the unit must have a unique ID number to be
recognized within the network system. For more information on the
networking capabilities of the DriveRack™ system, please refer to Section
9.
Note - ID designations cannot be changed through the network. Changes
to ID numbers must be done to the selected unit from within its physical
interface.
6.2 Security Levels
To protect all detailed parameter editing and configuration modification
settings of your DriveRack™ unit, the Utility menu of the DriveRack™
systems include a complete security system set-up. This security system
allows you to set security access to every module, with security levels that
vary from low to high. This security systems also allows you to create
unique passwords which will limit/prevent any other users from access to
the system. The following information is provided to help you set all
security parameters.
1. Prior to setting security passwords you will access the security menu
by pressing the UTILITY button and use the PREV PG and
NEXT PG buttons to move to page two and three of the utility menu.

6.1 Identificación de red
A través de la página 1 del menú utilidades podrá acceder a todas las
funciones de red del sistema DriveRack™. La siguiente información estará
relacionada en algún modo con aspectos relativos a la red. Para más
información sobre la utilización de las posibilidades de conexión en red,
vea la sección 9.
AJUSTE DEL NUMERO DE IDENTIFICACION DE
UNIDAD
Para ajustar el número de identificación de unidad en un DriveRack™ 480,
el procedimiento es el siguiente:
1. Desde el modo de programa, pulse una vez el botón UTILITY.
2. Use el mando PARAMETER 1 para ajustar cualquier número de unidad
entre 1 y 99. Si el 480 va a actuar como unidad controladora maestra,
ajuste la identificación de unidad a 0 y aparecerá MST en vídeo inverso
en la esquina superior izquierda de la pantalla.
MAESTRO
Cuando la unidad DriveRack™ elegida es ajustada para que actúe como
unidad maestra en la red DriveRack™, el control del resto de unidades
podrá llevarse a cabo desde esta unidad maestra. Es importante tener en
cuenta que sólo puede haber una unidad designada como maestra. Para
más información sobre las funciones de conexión en red de los sistemas
DriveRack™, vaya a la sección 9.
ESCLAVO
Cuando el 480, 481 o 482 es ajustado para actuar como unidad esclava en
la red DriveRack™, la unidad ha de tener un número de identificación
propio para ser reconocida dentro del sistema de red. Para más
información acerca de las funciones de conexión en red del sistema
DriveRack™, vaya a la sección 9.
Nota - Las designaciones de identificación no pueden ser modificadas
dentro de la red. Los cambios de los números de identificación han de
realizarse sobre la unidad elegida desde dentro de su interface física.
6.2 Niveles de seguridad
Para proteger todos los ajustes modificados en los parámetros de edición
y en la configuración de su unidad DriveRack™, el menú de utilidades de
los sistemas DriveRack™ incluye un ajuste o sistema completo de
seguridad. Este sistema de seguridad le permite fijar un valor de clave
seguridad necesaria para acceder a cada módulo, con niveles de seguridad
que varían desde bajo hasta alto. Estos sistemas de seguridad también le
permiten crear contraseñas diferentes que limitarán/evitarán que cualquier
otro usuario acceda al sistema. Le incluimos la siguiente información para
ayudarle a configurar todos los parámetros de seguridad.
1. Antes de configurar las contraseñas de seguridad deberá acceder al
menú de seguridad pulsando el botón UTILITY y usando los
botones PREV PG y NEXT PG para desplazarse a la página dos y
tres de dicho menú. Una vez allí, las pantallas aparecerán del
siguiente modo:
