3.4. Check List: 9 steps before start

1. Be aware of the safety recommendations in the manual.
2. Check the general condition of the battery. Look for cracks, clearances, loose parts
inside, among others. If liquid is spilled from the inside, immediately disconnect it and
see page 56 and 67.
3. The ambient temperature for use should be between 5°C and 40°C to avoid
damaging the battery.
4. Check the battery charge level by pressing the charge indicator on the battery. Do not
use if it is in red only. If necessary, be aware of the instructions on page 56 to 58.
5. Check if the auxiliary handle is securely fastened.
6. Check the switch movement.
7. Check if the disc is suitable for the angle grinder (size, speed, central hole) and for
the work to be performed and is in good working condition (without fissures, cracks,
deformations, etc.) and is installed correctly. Some types of discs have a specific side of
the face for affixation.
8. If the disc is new, test it with the grinder for 1 minute in an isolated area. If it is
damaged, it can become fragmented.
9. Check the general condition of the machine and battery socket. Look for cracks,
clearances, loose parts inside, among others. Note: The presence of some slack in the
battery holder with the power tool is a normal condition, not a malfunction.

3.5. Kickback and body posture

The kickback is a violent reaction of the power tool in an anti-movement direction,
created by the torque and inertia of the rotating parts.
How to reduce it and protect yourself
• Always use the auxiliary handle.
• When operating and during the roughing
operation, the angle grinder tends to
create the kickback. Hold it firmly and
position your arm and body, keeping your
legs slightly open and firm to the floor.
• The kickback occurs in the opposite
direction of rotation and from the point of
contact of the disc with the material.
• In case of possible blockage of the
moving parts, there will be an intense
kickback, which could break the disc or
hurt the user. To avoid this, do not
