Connection to the power supply line
Connect the PWM to the power supply line. If an extension of the power
cable is required, use a cable with a suitable section to limit possible
overall voltage drops (power supply plus pump) to 3%. In any event,
never use cables with a section of less than 1.5 mm
In the case of extensions to the inverter cables, for example for power
supply to submersed electric pumps, if there is electromagnetic distur-
bance, the following is recommended:
1. Check earthing and if necessary add an earthing device in the im
mediate vicinity of the PWM.
2. Embed the cables
3. Use shielded cables
4. Install the mains filters.

The PWM is already provided with current protections. If a thermal mag-
netic cut-out is installed on the line, this must have a capacity suited to
the pump used. The connection of the line to the PWM must include the
earth line. The total earth resistance must not exceed 100 Ohm.
A RCCB should be installed to protect the system, which
should be suitably sized, as follows: Class AS, with selec-
tive adjustable current dispersion, protected against inadvertent
activation. The automatic differential switch must be marked with
the following two symbols:
Connection to pump
The power supply voltage of the installed electric pump must be 400
V three-phase. Check the motor connection dataplate to ensure corre-
sponding specifications. The 400V power voltage is normally used with
a star configuration for pumps with outputs of less than 5.5KW, while
for outputs equal to or greater than 5.5 kW the delta configuration is
used (in any event always check pump dataplate or terminal board
specifications).
