Changing the lamp bulb

Before changing the bulb, make sure that the power switch is off and the power cord has been
disconnected from the main supply.
For incident light: unscrew the lamp collector piece and pull it out, remove the old light bulb
from the socket, and carefully plug the new bulb in. Screw the collector piece back after chan-
ging the bulb.
For transmitted light: remove the glass plate by pushing down its rear side, remove the old
bulb from the socket and carefully plug the new bulb in.
Never touch the glass surface of the bulb with naked hand, any grease stain brought onto the
bulb by the hand will negatively affect the heat dissipation, and thus, greatly shorten the life
span of the bulb. Clean the bulb surface with alcohol and tissue if the user has touched the
bulb surface accidentally.

7.0 OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES

7.1

Eyepieces and auxiliary objectives

With the standard equipment is included a pair of l0x eyepieces. There are also 15x and 20x
eyepieces available as optional accessories.
To change the eyepieces, remove the original eyepieces and replace with the new pair.
The standard objective is 1x and as optional accessories there are 0,5x, 1,5x, and 2x additio-
nal objectives. An additional objective can be needed to obtain a specifi c magnifi cation or a
different working distance.
The additional objective is mounted simply by screwing it onto the stereo-head. The height
of the microscope has to be re-adjusted as the working distance is changed when additional
objective is used.
7.2 Dark fi eld condenser
The dark fi eld condenser has to be used with transmitted light system. By putting this acces-
sory onto the transmitted light outlet (removing the frosted glass or stage plate), it creates
the dark fi eld effect. It is especially useful in jewellery or gem study and special techniques in
biomedical applications.
