Press the Cushion Bushing from the Valve end of the
Barrel back down the bore until it seats on the
Cushion Bushing Retaining Clip.
Do not apply excessive pressure to this clip.
When installing a hexagon nozzle into the barrel,
follow the instructions below.
For European ISO standard shanks:
Ensure that one of the flats of the hexagon is at 90
degrees to the axis of the Handle.
For U.S.A. standard shanks:
Ensure that one of the flats of the hexagon is parallel
to the axis of the Handle. This will ensure that the
cutting edge of a hexagon shank chisel will be parallel
to the axis of the Handle. Since hexagon to cutting
edge orientation can vary in local markets, it is best to
take reference to a chisel which will be used in the
tool.

Press the Nozzle into the Barrel, pilot diameter first.
Assembly of the Inside Trigger Assembly
1.
Put the Trigger (2) into the Handle (1) from the back.
Use a 1/8" (3mm) dowel to align the hole in the
Trigger (2) with the hole in the Handle. Drive the
Trigger Pin (3) into the Handle (1) to an equal depth
on either side of the Trigger.
2. Insert the Throttle Valve Plunger (4), Throttle Valve
(6) with O–Ring (5) and Throttle Valve Spring (7)
into the bore in the steel portion at the Handle.
3. Screw the Inlet Bushing (9) into the Handle.
Assembly of the Outside Trigger Assembly
1.
Put the Intermediate Lever (35) into the Handle (36).
Use a 1/8" (3 mm) dowel to align the hole in the
Intermediate Lever with the hole in the Handle.
Drive the Intermediate Lever Pin (37) into the Handle
to an equal depth on either side of the Intermediate
Lever.
2. Insert the Trigger (34) from the back of the Handle.
Use the dowel to align the hole in the Trigger with the
hole in the Handle. Drive the Trigger Pin (37) into
the Handle to an equal depth on either side of the
Intermediate Lever.
3. Insert the Throttle Valve Plunger (4), Throttle Valve
(6) with O–ring (5) and Throttle Spring (7) into the
bore in the steel portion at the Handle.
4. Screw the Inlet Bushing (9) into the Handle.
Assembly of the Fronthead
1.
Install the Plunger Spring (33) and Plunger (32) into
the Fronthead (30).
2.
Install the Latch (31) and using a suitable pin, depress
the Plunger until the Latch passes over the Plunger.

If the Adaptor Plate (14A) has been removed from the
Barrel, it must be assembled.
Grip the Adaptor Plate in leather–covered or
copper–covered vised jaws.
Avoid excessive pressure.
Locate the barrel flange in the counterbore of the
Adaptor Plate. The dowel in the Adaptor Plate must
enter the large (10 mm) drilled hole in the Barrel.
Fit the three Cap Screws (16) through the Barrel and
screw them into the Adaptor Plate and tighten to
65 ft–lb (88 Nm) torque.
Install the Piston (21), small end first, into the barrel
bore.
Place the Valve Seat (20) into position in the Valve
Chest of the Barrel making sure that the spigot on the
Valve Seat locates fully in the bore of the barrel.
Place the Valve Disc (19) on top of the Valve Seat
(20) and centralize the Disc to the bore.
Lubricate and fit O–ring (17) in grooves in the Valve
Cap (17A).
Carefully lower the Valve Cap into the Valve Chest
bore. Make sure that the Assembly is kept square
with the bore during assembly. When correctly
assembled, the Valve Assembly should protrude 0.5
mm (7–8 mm to top of O–ring (18) if fitted) above the
Adapter Plate.

The Piston and Valve Assembly parts may slide out
of the Barrel if it is tipped or inclined.
Lock Washers (11). Replace the Handle Assembly on
the Adaptor Plate with Cap Screws (10). Tighten to
30 ft–lb (40 Nm) torque.

For Latch Fronthead Assembly
Retainer O–ring (28) into the groove in the Fronthead.
Align the hole in the Fronthead with the slot in the
Barrel and install the Pin (48).
Secure the Pin with the Retainer Spring.
For Screw–on Retainer
O–ring (28) slide into the groove in the Fronthead.
For Hitchcutter Retainer
feel the Retainer O–ring (28) slide into the groove in
the Fronthead. Remove Guard if broken or damaged.
