Check the measuring cables for damaged insula-
tion. Check the continuity of the measuring cables
and replace damaged cables. In addition, check
the insulation of the measuring instrument so-
ckets.
Before using the appliance, check its function by
measuring a known voltage.
Connect the earth measuring cable before the live
measuring cable. Remove the measuring cables in
the reverse order, i.e. disconnect the live measu-
ring cable first.
It is essential to check before any voltage measu-
rement that the measuring instrument is not set to
a current measurement range.
If the appliance displays over-range (OL) immedi-
ately after connection to the object to be measu-
red, disconnect the measuring cables immediately

from the object to be measured after switching it
off. Do not switch any motors in the measuring
circuit on or off during measurement. High vol
tage peaks could destroy the measuring instru-
ment.
1. Turn the rotary switch to the voltage measurement
range and select the desired measurement mode (AC
voltage measurement; DC voltage measurement)
using the MODE button.
2. Insert the plug of the red measuring cable in the V/Ω
measuring socket and the black measuring cable in
the COM measuring socket.
3. Connect both measuring tips to the object to be
measured (in the case of DC voltage measurement,
ensure correct polarity: red to plus, black to minus).
If the input voltage is negative, a minus sign ap-
pears before the measured value.
