3.5 En gine op er a tion

3.5.1 En gine con trol – APH 100-20
The ma chines are fit ted with an en gine con trol.
This in cludes
• Starter safe guard lock
• Elec tronic oil de fi ciency cut-offin the event of an oil de fi ciency,
the en gine cuts out. In this case
• Top up oil or clear fault
• Start the en gine
• Pro tec tion against ex haus tive dis charge when ig ni tion is left
switched on When the en gine is switched on, the con trol
switches off all con sum ers af ter 2 min utes. In this case
• Turn ig ni tion key to «0».
• Start en gine as de scribed.

The oil pres sure in di ca tor (2) and charge in di ca tor (1) serve for
mon i tor ing the oil pres sure and func tion of the al ter na tor.
Af ter switch ing on the ig ni tion (3) (po si tion «I»), both in di ca tors
will flash twice, the charge in di ca tor will sub se quently ex tin guish
and the oil pres sure in di ca tor will show a steady light for about 30
sec onds. The con trol will sub se quently dis con nect the power
sup ply.
If start ing is not con tin ued within 10 sec onds, the pro -
ce dure must be re peated.

• Set the en gine speed le ver to full load.
• Ma chines with emer gency-stop-con nec tion:
Press emer gency-stop-con nec tion.
• In sert the ig ni tion key (1) and turn to «I»; the charge in di ca tor
(2) lights up and a horn* (3) sounds.
• Turn the igni ti on key (1) to «II».
*APH 5020 / 5030 / 6020 / 6530
If the en gine starts,
• re lease the ig ni tion key (1) and

• set the en gine speed le ver to idle.
• Al low the en gine to run for 1-2 min utes in or der to warm up.
Attention

The load in di ca tor light (2) mon i tors the func tion ing of
the al ter na tor. It il lu mi nates when the En gine stopped
in the ig ni tion on (po si tion «I») and must go out when
En gine runs.

Only op er ate the starter with a sta tion ary en gine.
Do not op er ate the starter for more than 20 – 30
sec onds.
Im me di ately re lease the ig ni tion key when the en -
gine runs.
Wait for 30 sec onds be fore try ing again.
Never turn the key to the «0» po si tion when the en -
gine is run ning. The reg u la tor can be de stroyed
and the bat tery will not charge !
