4. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Before connecting the torch & during the whole operation, take care to follow these
instructions. In case of doubt, get in touch with NIPPON GASES.
4.1.
Only use genuine & appropriate accessories from NIPPON GASES (cutting nozzles &
spare parts).
4.2.
NEVER USE OIL OR GREASE with any component of the equipment.
OXYGEN WITH OIL AND GREASE: DANGER OF EXPLOSION.
4.3.
Do not set pressures that are really different from those recommended.
WRONG PRESSURES = DIFFICULT FLAME CONTROL & RISK OF GAS BACKFLOWING.
4.4. Industrial hoses do not have an expiration date, such as those for domestic use; on the
contrary, they have a manufacturing date, if they are used in outdoor work or in
aggressive environments, it is recommended to change them annually.
4.5. Periodically inspect hoses, discarding hoses that show signs of aging (cracked outer
linings, cuts or loss of flexibility)
4.6. Prevent hoses from coming in contact with flame or other sources of heat as well as
being crushed by vehicles or materials
4.7. SET ASIDE:
Torches with gas escapes and/or too many crackers.

Damaged nozzles or tips.
-
Old hoses.
-
ESCAPES & OBSTRUCTIONS = DANGER OF GAS ACCUMULATION &/OR GAS BACKFLOWING.
4.8.
We recommend to always use non return valves
¡ PREFERENT WITH DIRECT CONNECTION TO THE TORCH !
4.9.
Do not use oxygen or fuel gases to clean parts with blowing system or to blow on
human body.
4.10.
Do not rub cutting nozzles on metallic parts or abrasive material to clean them; use
special accessory (broach) or rub on wood.
4.11. IN CASE OF GAS BACKFLOWING
Inspect how they have been affected and discard if necessary. (See 4. Gas Backflowing)
