benzene or any other solvents as these can adversely
affect the EPS (a.k.a. Styrofoam) shock absorbing liner
and plastic components. The helmet can be seriously
damaged by some common substances without
damage being visible to the naked eye. Dry the helmet
and shield at room temperature and never expose
them to excessive heat. Never subject them to strong
sunlight in an enclosed area such as back shelf of
a car. If using spray-on wax or polish, do not spray
directly on the helmet – spray lightly onto a cloth and
apply to the helmet with the cloth.
It is extremely dangerous to modify your helmet as it
may decrease the ability to protect. For safety's sake,
do not drill any holes in the shell or press or cut the
shock absorbing liner. Use only Arai's genuine parts
when you replace parts of your helmet. Do not apply
stickers or adhesive tape to the shield as this will
weaken the hard coating.
