ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION MANUAL
B1 MiniDUE INSTALLATION
B1.1 Before the installation
This guidelines ensure your safety. Please read them completely and carefully before installation
and keep them in a safe place.
Warning! Before the equipment installation please verify that the water supplied to the
equipment fulfils the requirements of European drinking water directives (Directive 98/83/CE).
Warning! The Manufacturer declines all liability for damages to property or persons resulting
from the incorrect installation of the pump and/or the installation of the pump in a system not
complying with the laws in force.
MiniDUE is not equipped, by standard, with any flooding-control system or other devices able to
detect, control or alarm in case of runaway water losses. In case, consider, apart, an adequate anti
flooding device. If necessary, provide a suitable anti-flooding device separately.
To avoid external contamination, always keep the pump in its original closed box and remove it only
immediately before the installation. During transport and storage, the equipment must not be
subjected to temperatures below 5 ° C and above 40 ° C.
Do not install MiniDUE downstream of boilers or in devices involving the transit, inside the pump, of
water at higher than 30°C temperature. Install MiniDUE upstream of boilers or devices to protect.
MiniDUE cannot be used to treat closed loop water, closed loop heating systems, process water,
sewer water or any other applications not cited in this manual. Before installing MiniDUE or any other
equipment for polyphosphates dosage upstream of solar boilers or water storage tank where
temperature could rise, for long times, above 60 °C please contact Acqua Brevetti SRL o technical
office. The permanence of AcquaSIL 2/15
high temperature may imply the partial loss of anti scaling effectiveness.
B1.2 Site installation requirements
The installation of the pump is a significant modification to the drinking water plumbing system, then
it must be carried out in a workmanlike manner by a qualified technician, in compliance with local
laws, regulations, and standards.
MiniDUE pump must be installed in a hygienically suitable, dry, clean place, indoors, away from:
frost, direct exposure to sunlight, humidity and atmospheric agents (rain, snow, hail).
The plumbing system created for the installation of equipment connected to the water supply network
must be equipped with a system capable of ensuring the non-return in the network of the treated
water, as well as with a manual or automatic by-pass valve system that allows the delivery of
untreated water, interrupting the supply of the treated one.
Do not install the pump in wells, near drains, in foul-smelling places. Do not install it where there
may be chemical vapors, gases or fumes of any kind. Avoid installation in confined spaces that do
not allow an easy performance of the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance operations.
The permissible limit values of the environmental parameters for the installation are as follows:
Minimum/maximum ambient temperature (°C): 5 – 40.
Warning! Make sure that plumbing system be hygienically safe and does not present risks
of bacterial growth (for example dead branches, sources of bacterial proliferation...).
This equipment must not be used to treat water having microbiological parameters not in compliance
with drinking standards.
Prevent solvents, oils, greases, acidic or caustic substances and detergents to come into contact
with the external plastic and brass parts of the equipment. In case of very strong bumps during
