4.4.5 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FILLING
WARNING: Always check for any oil leak. In case of leaks, cut power off, and tighten any
loose union. To raise the carriages, proceed as follows:
1)
Unscrew the oil filling plug (T, Fig. 20) and fill the tank (S, Fig. 20) with 7 l of ESSO NUTO H46
hydraulic oil or equivalent (viscosity ISO VG 32).
2)
Press and hold the «UP» push-button (20, Fig. 1) until carriage P1 reaches a height of about
50 cm.
3)
Position the arms (1 and 2, Fig.11) near the carriages (3, Fig.11). The foot guards (5, Fig. 15) on
the arms must be pointing towards the outside of the lift.
4)
During assembly, take special care to the correct positioning of the arm anti-rotation safety
devices (8, Fig. 11) and ensure they are properly located to the pin (6, Fig.11). The arm anti-
rotation safety devices can be temporarily cut-off by pulling the knob (9, Fig. 11) upwards.
5)
Press the «UP» push-button (19, Fig. 1) and keep it pressed until the carriage P1 reaches its
maximum height. Now pour 3 more litres of oil into the tank.
6)
Press the «UP» push-button (19, Fig. 1) again until carriage P2 reaches a height of about 50 cm.
7)
Assemble the arms to the carriage of column P2, proceeding as described at point 4.
8)
Press the «UP» push-button (19, Fig. 1) until carriage P2 reaches its maximum height. After
reaching the maximum height, keep the push-button pres-sed for another 5 - 10 seconds to
allow the air bleeding.
4.4.6 CARRIAGE ALIGNMENTS
4.4.6.1 ALIGNMENT AT THE FIRST START-UP
1)
Press the DOWN push-button (20, Fig. 1) until both carriages reach minimum height.
2)
Press the UP push-button (19, Fig. 1) until the two carriages reach their maximum height.
3)
After 5 - 10 minutes break, needed to allow any air to separate from the oil, carry out an UP-
DOWN run as described at points 1) and 2), checking that the safety devices described in this
manual (6.1) work correctly.
4)
Check and top up the oil to the correct level, as marked on the tank, while the carriages are
on the ground.
DANGER: After the installation or the maintenance of the lift or after servicing the
cylinders, before lifting a vehicle, it is compul-sory to check the correct operation of the
safety device controlling the carriage misalignment, as described at point 6.1.2.
DANGER: It is forbidden to use the lift in case the load-bearing arms remain misaligned
after carrying out the alignment of the carriages: the vehicle might fall off the lift.
