Using the Second Base Unit
For use with two TV's:
• For added convenience, a second Base Unit, AC Adapter and set of Cables are included for installation to an alternative television for
use in two rooms. Simply remove the Receiver from the first Base Unit and place it into the second Base Unit.
For use as an audio monitor:
• You may also choose to use your second Base Unit for traditional audio monitoring. Simply plug AC Adapter into Base Unit, then into a
standard outlet. Insert Receiver into Base Unit; turn on and adjust volume using the On/Volume Dial.
Note: For extended range in audio only mode, position the Audio Only Switch on the camera to "Video Off."
Using Portable Parent's Unit (Receiver)
For portable audio monitoring of your child, remove Receiver from Base Unit. Be sure 4 AAA batteries have been installed (refer to
page 5). Belt clip included for added convenience.
Using Sound Lights Feature
Five lights on the Receiver (see attached) illuminate to display the sound level coming from your child. These are helpful in a
noisy environment when you may not be able to hear your child clearly. The louder your child's sound the more lights light up. With
this feature you can turn down the Receiver volume while watching TV and use the Sound Lights to indicate if there are sounds
coming from the nursery.

Testing Reception

Before installing Wall Mount Screw, test the video and sound of the 900 MHz Sound & Sight Television Monitor at the following times:
• BEFORE initial use
• ROUTINELY during use
• Whenever you CHANGE Camera or Receiver location
It is easiest for two adults to test reception. One adult should be in the room with the Camera while the other moves the Receiver
around in one room or two different rooms. As with any audio equipment, feedback or high-pitched sounds may occur when the Camera
and Receiver are too close to one another.
ALWAYS TEST VIDEO AND AUDIO IN THE SPECIFIC LOCATIONS YOU INTEND TO USE THE 900 MHZ SOUND & SIGHT TELEVISION MONITOR.
To Test the Video Reception:
• Place Camera in best position to view baby, for example, on a table, dresser or against a wall. Make sure table or dresser is stable.
• Direct Camera lens to area where baby will be to ensure an unobstructed view of your baby. Position a stuffed animal or doll
to test this view.
• Check video reception quality by adjusting contrast, brightness and vertical hold on your television.
• Test video reception in all the areas in which you will be using the Camera and the Receiver. The Camera's Auto Sensor
feature ensures a clear view, automatically, of your baby even in poorly lit or darkened rooms.
To Test the Audio Reception:
• Speak quietly or whisper at the location of the baby being monitored. Check quality of reception.
• Speak in a conversational tone at the same location, and evaluate sound reception.
• Determine your baby's usual sound level and test accordingly.
• Place Camera at a proper distance from the Receiver to avoid any feedback. Testing at different distances will determine
the optimum position for clarity. Placing the Camera in a different room from the Receiver is the best way to prevent interference.

Important Notes

Always remember that you are using public airwaves when you use the Safety 1st 900 MHz Sound & Sight Television Monitor. Sound
and video may be broadcast to other receiving devices. Conversations, even from rooms near the Camera, may be broadcast as well.
CAUTION: To protect your privacy, always turn the Camera off when not in use.
The 900 MHz Sound & Sight Television Monitor may pick up sounds or display interference from other signal-producing devices,
including other audio and video monitors that broadcast in the same range as this product. To minimize this potential problem,
Safety 1st has designed the 900 MHz Sound & Sight Television Monitor with 3 independent channel selections.
If you receive interference while using one channel simply switch the Camera and Receiver to another. ALWAYS BE CERTAIN THE
CAMERA AND THE RECEIVER ARE ON THE SAME CHANNEL SELECTION. Changing to an alternate channel is usually a one-time
adjustment. If interference persists on ALL channels, refer to the "Troubleshooting" section at the end of these instructions.
