Field of application
The zero gravity balancers of type 7241 are used for reliev-
ing – i.e. equalizing – the weight of hand-held tools (such as
welding tongs, hole gauges and micrometers, slaughter-
house equipment, etc.).
General information
The weight-balancing retraction force remains almost con-
stant across the entire extension length of the cable. The
load range of the zero gravity balancers depends on the
model, as indicated on the rating plate (1).

Safety instructions
G No changes may be made on the zero gravity balancers
of type 7241 or their accessories without the express
written permission of the manufacturer.
G The safe use of these products is only ensured if you
have fully read these operating and safety instructions
and strictly observe them during work.
G The balancer may only be operated, installed, serviced
and repaired by fully qualified personnel. These persons
must have been informed about the potential risks asso-
ciated with performing these tasks.
G Hook or unhook the load only when the cable is fully
retracted.
G The fixture(s) on which the zero-weight balancer and the
safety chain are installed must be sufficiently stable!
G The balancer's cable must be checked for potential
damage at regular intervals – at least once a year – by a
competent person (as required by DIN 15020, Part 2).
Never use a balancer when the cable is defective!
G Never stand under a suspended load!
G The suspension (complying with DIN 15405, Part 1), the
anti-crash safety device and the safety chain must be
monitored continuously. If damage or wear is detected,
withdraw the balancer from service at once.
G Please note that the cable can easily get displaced from
its coupling if it is moved backwards, or snaps back, in
no-load condition during installation. An incorrectly
anchored cable can slip out under load and cause bodily
injuries or other damage due to the load crashing down!
G Except for cable replacement (see Replacing the cable),
the spring tension must be fully released before perfor-
ming any service or repair work. Disassembling the
spring housing is extremely dangerous and therefore
strictly forbidden.
G It is strictly forbidden to operate the zero gravity balancer
without the safety components supplied (safety chain,
spring fracture safeguard, etc.).
G A safety chain strained by a falling balancer must be
replaced at once, together with the balancer's housing.
