Disposal and environmental protection
7.1
Disposal of the device
The law states that as owner of an old electrical or electronic device you are not allowed
(under DIRECTIVE 2012/19/EU OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 4
July 2012 on Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment, and the reformed German Electrical
and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) of 20 October 2015) to dispose of this device or its
electrical/electronic accessories via unsorted domestic waste.

Contact your city or municipal administration for more information.
7.2
Notes on disposal of the battery
The lithium-ion battery pack contains substances that may be harmful to the environment.
Before scrapping the device, the battery pack must be removed from the device and taken to a bat-
tery collection centre.
Only dispose of battery packs that are completely empty. The battery contacts must not come into
contact with metal under any circumstances.
7.3
Disposing of the packaging
The packaging is an important part of our product. It protects our devices against damage during
transportation and reduces the risk of a device fault. For this reason, we cannot avoid using packag-
ing. If you need to return or send in your device to the service or customer service department either
during or after the warranty period, the original packaging
provides the best protection against damage in transit.
If you nevertheless wish to dispose of the packaging, you can do this at any time and without limita-
tion via your local council facilities (waste paper skip, yellow skip, recycling depot, waste paper col-
lection etc.). Vorwerk commissions authorised licensors for this. In case of queries, please contact
your respective Service Centre (see chapter "9 Service" on page 44).
