Remove (2) plastic underbody panels – using an 8mm socket, remove (5) screws and a 10mm socket, remove (1) plastic nut from bottom panels, both sides. NOTE: Carefully remove

the (3) clips holding wire harness to the driver's side panel.
Remove taillights – Open trunk. Using a flat head screw driver, remove (1) plastic screw from each panel covering the taillight mounting hardware. Using a 10mm socket, remove the

(2) hex nuts from taillights and gently pull the taillights rearward. Disconnect the wiring from taillights.
3a. Remove fascia - using an 8mm socket , remove (2) screws from wheel well, both sides.
b.) using a T15 torx bit, remove (1) screw located vertically in the upper area of wheel well (both sides), and (3) screws at rear of fascia.
c.) using a 10mm socket, remove (2) screws from top of fascia near trunk, (1) per side.
d.) using a plastic trim panel tool, gently remove the plastic fascia starting at the outer edges.
Unplug rear sensor (if equipped) – on some models, disconnect wiring harness from rear sensor or temporarily remove sensor from bumper beam. See Figure 1.

Remove bumper beam – using an 18mm deep wall socket with 6" extension, remove (4) flange hex nuts holding bumper beam to end panel. See Figure 1.

Remove heat shield – using an 8mm socket remove (4) screws and a 10mm socket, remove (3) hex nuts from rear heat shield.

Trim heat shield – using a tape measure, marker, & tin snips, mark & trim rear heat shield as shown in figure 2.

Hitch installation – raise hitch and bumper beam into position aligning holes with studs in the end panel. Sandwich the hitch between bumper beam and end panel. See Figure 1.

Reinstall fasteners - Loosely reinstall the existing (4) M12 hex flange nuts onto the studs, (2) per side.

10. Tighten all M12 fasteners with torque wrench to 68 Lb.-Ft. (92 N*M)
11. Reinstall rear sensor – if equipped, reinstall the rear sensor and reconnect the wiring.
12. Reinstall heat shield – reinstall trimmed heat shield.
13. Reinstall fascia and taillights – reinstall fascia, taillights, and (2) plastic panels near trunk.
14. Reinstall (2) plastic underbody panels – reinstall the (2) plastic underbody panels and reattach the wiring clips to panel on driver's side.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which
has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety
specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
