CAUTION: SUPPORT THE BUMPER STRUCTURE AS REQUIRED DURING HITCH INSTALLATION.
2.
Measure and note the clearance from bumper to bed to ensure proper positioning of bumper in Step 8.
3.
Remove three (3) existing M12 hex flange bolts from the factory-installed bumper bracket (both sides). Retain for later use.
4.
Position the bumper bracket and hitch on the outboard side of the frame rail as shown (one side at a time). Make sure the
electrical wire does not get crushed between the hitch and frame rail.
5.
Loosely reinstall the existing M12 flange bolts (removed in Step 3) through the hitch side bracket, bumper bracket, frame rail, and
three (3) rearmost existing weld nuts.
With 1/2" flat washer located between the frame rail and the hitch side bracket, loosely install 1/2" conical washer and M12 hex

bolt through the remaining existing weld nut as shown.
7.
Repeat Steps 4-6 for the other side.
8.
Make sure bumper-to-bed clearance is the same as measured in Step 2 before tightening all fasteners to specification.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent
entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a
vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and
SAE J684.
