Mounting the factory header
– Remove the standard silencer and shock absorber (see Owner's Manual).
NOTE:
The shock absorber does not need to be removed entirely. It is sufficient to
remove the screws and to carefully place the shock absorber into the link
fork.
- Detach the exhaust springs (1) and remove the standard header.
- Mount the shock absorber (see the Owner's Manual).

450 SX-F only:

- Mount the Akrapovic header pipe, set it up and attach it with the supplied
exhaust springs.
Remove the exhaust flange.
Mount the Akrapovic exhaust flange with the original screws and
gasket.
