Improvements in Update 3
Note
Update 3 is also being released for the Software Controller to ensure consistent versions of SIMATIC S7-1500 products. In
terms of content, this version is equivalent to CPU FW V1.8.3 and also contains the relevant improvements of CPU FW
V1.8.2.
Update 3 contains the following improvements and changes:
The alarm "Serious firmware exception (not relevant for user, system code: 16#44440000 16#10020000 16#00000000)" no
longer occurs highly sporadically during operation.
Loading to the CPU
The behavior has been improved for the following cases:
● During loading to the CPU, the error message "There is not enough code or data memory space on the CPU for this
amount of data - Insufficient work memory for compilation" despite sufficient load and work memory no longer occurs due
to structure descriptions for data structures.
● The alarm "Serious firmware exception (not relevant for user, system code: 16#00400001 16#1002012E 16#46E05090)"
no longer occurs highly sporadically during operation.
● The rare error message "Incompatible device" no longer occurs in the status information when an online connection is
established. The IP address is no longer highlighted in red in the "Compatible devices in target subnet" area.
Routing
The following sporadic alarm no longer occurs during routing through the S7-1500 CPUs on SINAMICS drives: "Temporary
CPU error".
Communication via PROFIBUS
The following sporadic alarm during CPU-CPU communication via PROFIBUS no longer occurs when the remote
communication partner is a passive PROFIBUS station: "Serious firmware exception (not relevant for user, system code f5
10020015 21)"
Monitoring multiple blocks
The following alarms no longer occur when multiple blocks or watch tables are monitored:
● "Serious firmware exception (not relevant for user, system code: 16#00400001 16#10020065 16#4B3F1C88)"
● "Serious firmware exception (not relevant for user, system code: 16#00400001 16#10020065 16#00010246)"
Failure of a DP station
When a DP station fails, the highly sporadic behavior whereby the configured substitute values are temporarily interpreted
as process values by the CPU no longer occurs.
Removing a central module
When a central module is removed on the CPU1515SP PC, the behavior whereby the configured substitute values are
temporarily interpreted as process values by the CPU no longer occurs
