Application

TD 390
The TD 390 is a 2–line alphanumeric message display for SIMATIC S5
for displaying messages and variables in the PLC. It is controlled by flag
bits in the application program. Configuration is performed in STEP 5.
You require no further tools to configure your application program.
PLC connection
The TD 390 can be connected to the following PLCs:
S5–90U, S5–95U, S5–100U, S5–101U
S5–115U
S5–135U, S5–155U/H
Applications for
A TD 390 can be used at those points in your process for which you
the TD 390
require information on machines and process states. Process and system
data can be displayed and modified. You decide on the part of your
process in which you want to display messages or variables. Since the
TD 390 is permanently connected to a PLC, this provides you with a
window on your process.
Function
Messages which you generate in data blocks are marked in the
application program by flag bits and stored in a TD 390 text buffer. The
TD 390 displays the message from the text buffer. The flag bits indicate
to the TD 390 what it should display and when.
You can include process and system variables in these messages and display
them. The variables are updated at specified time intervals and are displayed
immediately on the TD 390. You can modify variables if necessary and
rewrite them in the DB.
