Installing adapter
Screw the adapter included onto the thread (D 43mm) on the brake fluid reservoir or install
the appropriate adapter (see adapter list) as specified in the instructions on the brake fluid
reservoir.
Operating instructions
Observe the safety precautions in the section "For your safety" strictly. Before starting work
observe the vehicle manufacturer's instructions regarding the maximum filling
pressure and special operating instructions. The pressure regulator is set to an operating
pressure of 2 bars at the factory. This ensures that the compensation reservoir is not
deformed or the secondary seals damaged resulting in leakage. The unit can easily be set to
a lower or higher operating pressure, if required to bleed the brakes or replace the brake fluid.
Work steps
1. Connect filling hose 1 to the adapter already installed.
2. Move power switch 5 to <<ON>> position.
3. Press start button (pump runs slightly louder at first, because no fluid is being pumped;
later it hums pleasantly.).
4. The pump builds up the operating pressure (max. 3.5 bars). This can be adjusted with
pressure regulator 3 by pulling out the control flap and turning to the desired operating
pressure (Recommended pressure: 2 bars).
Bleeding operation
6. Now bleed the brakes in sequence beginning at the right rear and finishing at the front
left brake. For this purpose open the valve on the corresponding wheel brake cylinder.
Catch the old brake fluid in a catch bottle. As soon as the new brake fluid exits from the
drain hole without bubbles, close the valve again. As a matter of principle always
observe the instructions and guidelines for bleeding the brakes specified by the
manufacturer for the specific vehicle model.
7. After completion switch off the unit (move power switch 5 to <<OFF>> position).
8. Note: As a rule the unit relieves any pressure present. However if the pressure was
reduced during the filling operation, the pressure is not relieved. This means that it does
not decrease to 0 bars. In this case it is first necessary to relieve the pressure in the
pressure regulator. To do this switch off the unit and turn the pressure regulator to the
right until the pressure is relieved. The operating pressure then drops to 0.
9. Filling hose 1 is no longer under pressure and can be disconnected from the adapter
(no pressure, no squirting).
10. The brake fluid reservoir is not filled up to the top. Use a suitable pipette to remove
excess brake fluid down to the permissible fill level (see Fig. )
11. Remove adapter and seal brake fluid reservoir.
